Well, I'm not counting VALIANT Heroes personally, which leads us with:
1. Grendel (a fan of most incarnations, think Christine Spar might be the tops, arguments that G. could be in the villian camp are not without merit.)
2. Invincible (Gotta love Mark Grayson)
3. Johnny Alpha (Strontium Dog, old 2000AD character)
4. Scott Pilgrim (best book you've never read... unless you have)
5. The Tick (Spoon!)
6. Donatello (of Turtles fame)
7. Agent 355 (of Y the Last man, I'm stretching here a little but she is a legitimate badass)
8. Jeff Smax (Top 10)
9. Rogue Trooper (2000AD again)
10. Jakita Wagner (Planetary)
I've tried to limit the list to characters who perform superheroics, without that self imposed constraint, Alan Moore's Halo Jones would top the list.
