How would CGC grade THIS book?

Nice looking copy but what bugs me is the signature on the first page. If CGC graded this 9.4 for arguements sake, would CGC grade this as a 'Qualified 9.4'?
I don't think it qualifies as signature series book, so I'm going to guess with everything else being NM 'perfect'(most likely lower though...) that the Ploog signature will pull down the grade of this book.

I would put in a serious bid if not for the damn signature!

Good question. I don't think they would qualify this book, because the signature is on the interior and out of the way of the story. My Guess is that they may note that the word "Ploog" is written on the interior. I can't say for certain.
From the scans though, it looks more like a 9.0/9.2 without the stain which is large and noticeable. To me, it looks like people are paying for the signature on this one.

8.5? Really? Are you using the 'looks 9.2 but will assume only 8.5 because of the minus full grade on eBay fudge factor'?

You would probably be right though....

I give up....what is 'glod'?

Overwrap in this case would not bother me. I hate the overwraps that are not uniform from top to bottom, like at an angle and then the cover does not look square.

glod is the Green Label of Death...a qualified label from cgc...the other is the PLOD for Purple Label of Death which is, of course, the resto label from cgc... :thumb:

I dont know...If it was a white cover I wouldnt mind the overwrap, but with the all black covers it really bothers me...well really any solid color cover beside white with overwrap doesnt appeal to me if I was spending major coin...
