I asked if the Bloodshot Platinum was included and here's what I got back.
"no, the platinum is an error book, it was not published on purpose by valiant. It was only a test run mistake and is only made collectible by the consumer. This auction consists of the books put out by valiant to the consumer. there are actually about 9 different error books out there. there is a bloodshot silver cover, a shadowman gold cover where the entire cover is gold, there is a rai book that the cover is just black and white. I can't remeber the rest but you see what I am getting at. the errors, though very rare are not really part of the valiant universe and were never meant to be. the are exactly what they are called "errors" . the platinum bloodshot was named by the valiant fan club when they were discoveredin the late ninties and were explained by Bob layton , the former CEO of Valiant that is was not on purpose and as thought to be destroyed, though a unknown number of them made it into circulation. You see waht I am getting at. I truely appreciate the question. If there is anything else I could answer for you just let me know. thanks alot for looking at the auction"

All the plats and golds are there, but the Bloodshot platinum IS a printing error, kind of like that issue of Venom number 1 that Chainnball has so many of.superman-prime wrote:i dont think he is trying to be tricky he just doesent consider plats golds and incentives part of the regular set
mabee it should have been listed as regular set
The only official platinum books are the Unity 1 and Magnus/Predator 1 platinum editions. The Bloodshot platinum IS just a screw up at the printer.
A HAPPY screw up, don't get me wrong.

If a book has a reserve on it and the first bid is higher than the reserve (as in this case), it will automatically bump the bid up to the reserve amount. It only says "reserve not met"...well, if the reserve is not met.SnotDrip wrote:I have never known an auction to do that - jump that is by over $500.00. One usually gets the standard "(RESERVE NOT MET)" msg irrelevant of amount until the current bid has been incremented above the reserve.ckb wrote:I think the price jumped because it met reserve with the first bid.
Just wondering...

If i win this you can expect to see everything post chaos effect and all the TPBs go back up for sale (split up of course, not as one lot). I am just trying to replace a lost collection.
My advantage - I live 10 miles from this guy.

Yeah. I had about fifty books that I had since I was a teenager, then I won an auction for about 125 books pretty cheap. Dac55 from the board sent me almost 200 books and then I picked up another couple hundred in the ten-cent boxes at Heroescon.Daniel Jackson wrote:Seriously? Wow, you must have gotten some great bargains then.Tim Petty wrote:damn...i put my collection together over the course of a little over a year for under $400.
Bought about a hundred and fifty from Schmakt and around 50 or so from various members. Ckb was a big help.
I had all this info written down....who I boguth what from and how much I paid, but I can't find it.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know they had changed that.ckb wrote:That's the new way eBay is censoring bidder names on auctions over a certain value. Replaces the BidderX scheme. And it's clearly a superior solution.Rufusharley wrote:It's kind of weird that all bidders have triple astriks (***) in their name.

Don't feel bad, I wasn't aware of the change either.Rufusharley wrote:Thanks for the info.
