Crossgen is a comic publisher that emerged during the last few years. Many great titles worth reading. Recently, they sort of imploded their universe to bring down the number of titles they publish. There have been many comparisons to Valiant, mostly because they were the latest alternative to Marvel/DC who developed a well established universe with many quality, well followed titles with lots of big talent and then started having financial problems. Well worth reading.

Some of the books are fantasy (Sojourn, Meridian, Mystic) some of are hard or light Sci-Fi (Crux, Negation) some martial arts books (Path) and some horror (Route 666). I liked all of their titles except the First. Crossgen tried very hard to appeal to a wide audience, but also tried to link them all together somewhat. I had purchased all of the trades over the years and really found them very good. They've sort of suspended their trade program for some reason (I'm guessing $).

well, i like 'em...really i picked up a large ruse lot and am a pretty big fan...figured i wouldn't mind picking up runs of the other titles (for the right price)
Knightt_333 wrote:what do you find in them that you like ?
the titles all tie together (though some not as obviously as others) and that certainly reminds me of another indie publisher...hmmm....

the writing seems pretty solid and the art is great.....i like the dialogue...especially in ruse.
Knightt_333 wrote: Are they all fantasy books or superheroes ?
little bit of both...ruse is like a sherlock holmes w/some magic mixed in. very diff from most of the titles on the shelf (though i believe it was cancelled :( ). someone else gave a great breakdown of the rest of the titles.

love em. but i only buy the collection books like Forge or Edge. Mainly Forge, love the Path, Crux, and Sojourn. Meridian is okay, but Negation is kinda boring.

All runs can be found on ebay at a deal. But you might have to dig a little deeper for early Sojourn from what I found. Sojourn #1 is a bit of a sleeper and getting harder to get for cheap.

I currently read and enjoy Sojourn, Path, and Brath. I intend to get the other runs eventually. I hope this company does not go under but I know they have had some problems!

Negation is a darn good book. Every issue is a rollercoaster ride. Crossgen was a good company but there are too many Marvel and DC zombies out there and alot of people will not buy a book unless Superman or Wolverine is in it.
