A challenge in Valiant minutae... who's up for it?

Post by The Mighty Drew »

I am trying to assemble a list of Valiant Comics that are ad-free cover to cover.

Why such an obsessive-compulsive undertaking? I want to send away a collection of Valiant Comics to be bound in a single volume, such as those shown in the "bound books" thread. But I want that volume to have no commercial interuption, as it were. The volume would be a hardcover "Valiant Sampler" of sorts.

Unfortunatly, I recently placed my collection of 12,000+ comics in storage to make room for my 2nd child who will be born in May, so I can't really figure it out on my own.

I can put the first book on the list though. I recently picked up a copy of the first "Turok: Son of Stone" reprint out of a quarter box. I don't have the second one, so I'm not putting that on the list without confirmation.

So what else do we have? I am more in favor of VH1, but I will send VH2 also if I can't make enough for a book with just VH1.

C'mon! Where are all the OCD Valiant Fans at??? :D

I would guess the mail away or give away books.

Magnus and Harbinger 0
Books included with the tpb's.
Deathmate previews
Magnus/Nexus preview
Secrets of the Vaiant Universe 1

I'm sure that they all have house ads so I don't know if those count as commercial interuption.

Can TPBs be bound? I believe those are ad-free.

You can bind trades but you have to remove the covers then heat up the glue they use to bind and separate the pages.

I think house ads are perfectly acceptable.

How about the "Yearbooks". We're they ad free? How awesome would it be to have a single volume of just the valiant yearbooks?

And how about Zero issues? Weren't X-O and Shadowman #0 ad-free?

Part of me has an aversion to doing this to certain books. I guess I don't like the idea of committing a KEY issue to this procedure.
