New Valiant Website for Diabetes research Coming soon

Post by imagesowner2 »

Hey guys. (and girl) . Ihave told many of you about my projects to raise money for Diabetes research before. Well I am working on opening an online site and store for Valiant comics. below I will provide a link that takes you to the sites message board and you can get a brief description of what will be coming. I would love all the support I can get in this and appreciate it if I do get it. Membership is comletely free for everyone.
if I can get the URL to work right you should be able to click on it, and if not just cut and paste it in your address bar.

Now, the website is not finished yet and won;t be for a month or so , but I would like to hear what you all think.

My son was diagnosed with type 1 Diabetes when he was just under 2 years old. I have never met such a tough kid in all of my life.

You really plan on doing the projects there instead of here? More power to you but I just think it would be better to do them here like knightt does his CF books.

Wow, that's a tough age to be diagnosed at. My wife was diagnosed with it at age 8 or something like that and she said it was tough. She takes three shots a day.

My son just got the flex pen. so he takes one big shot at night time and gets shots from the flexpen everytime he eats something. Th pen helps a bunch.

I would say it would be tougher if you were older. because then you know what you are missing out on. Forrest (my son) was diagnosed at such a young age it's all he knows. Now, I do worry about the long term effects on him. his vision has been affected a little bit but my wife (God Bless Her) has done a fantastic job of maintaining his glucose levels. I don't know what I would do without her

Thats not it at all... I did let Greg know about these books. I was aleady planning on startingthe online store. I just want the general public to have access to them as well.

I repect Greg and this sight. I am not trying to compete at all.

Please don't let this turn into a thread were you try and find fault in what I am doing.

I just wanted to let you guys know about them first.

I appreciate any support I can get doing this. thanks alot

I don't think anyone has a problem with what you are doing. I still think you should do a project here. The fan base is allready here and most projects sell out pretty quick. Do like some have done in the past. The 60 or so for here and then have an auction copy or 2 for ebay. If you have enough books, do the 60 here and then do some on your site. Just an idea.

Whatever you do and wherever you do it, you have MY support and I am sure the support of many others here on the board. Where ever you host the fund raiser all you have to do is let us know and we can log into the site and contribute in whatever way that we can. To me, it does not matter 'where' you host it just as long as we are moving forward in stamping out another life threatening disease !!!

"If you build it... they will come."

Whatever you put together... 'I'm in.' Well as long as it is nothing associated with that Deathmate crap.

I probably will do one in the near future, lord knows I have enough books. But I would liek the project here to be that has not been done before. Something the members here will truely appreciate for themselves.

Good idea. I've said this a few times in the past. The more unique it is, the better. Every project that goes by the bar gets raised that much higher.

I believe that all fund raiser books should be kept to the highest standard.

Really. You want to be the babysitter?

But back on subject , I really appreciate all the support guys (and Girl) The Site is looking great, the Store is looking great. But the shopping cart software is kicking my butt. I am working on it about 6 hours a day. lets hope I get done soon.
