It is one of those series that surprised me when I first read it.Lightning Strike wrote:A friend of mine let me read his set of Walking Dead issues up to the current issue, and I loved it, so I bought the first 7 TPB's off Ebay.Dr. Solar wrote:I just read the 7th trade this week, and I am anxiously waiting for the next one after the cliffhanger at the end of no. 7.
I felt it was kinda starting to drag on a bit during the 6th and 7th trade, though I am waiting for the next trade anxiously.

from what i've heard, many people start off with the trades and then jump to the single issues as the waiting can be unbearable! even waiting for the single issues is bad because they are always off schedule. but as someone who buys the singles, i'll be honest, it reads better as a trade.Dr. Solar wrote:It is one of those series that surprised me when I first read it.Lightning Strike wrote:A friend of mine let me read his set of Walking Dead issues up to the current issue, and I loved it, so I bought the first 7 TPB's off Ebay.Dr. Solar wrote:I just read the 7th trade this week, and I am anxiously waiting for the next one after the cliffhanger at the end of no. 7.

I'm actually glad I was able to sit down and read them all at once. They're very addictive to read. You finish an issue and get to the end and you're like "Oh my gosh, I can't believe that!"djwatson23 wrote:from what i've heard, many people start off with the trades and then jump to the single issues as the waiting can be unbearable! even waiting for the single issues is bad because they are always off schedule. but as someone who buys the singles, i'll be honest, it reads better as a trade.Dr. 7.

Very true. I started off with the singles and I still buy and read the single issues. It's always at the top of my stack. However, it definitely reads better as a trade. So, what I do is read the monthly (or whenever) books and then reread the trades when they come out.djwatson23 wrote: from what i've heard, many people start off with the trades and then jump to the single issues as the waiting can be unbearable! even waiting for the single issues is bad because they are always off schedule. but as someone who buys the singles, i'll be honest, it reads better as a trade.
And I kid you not, I have read through all the trades 4 times now and just 2 nights ago, I grabbed my TPB #1 to start reading again. I can't say that about any other comic series (except for Invincible which I think I've read through 2-3 times now). I've got a lot of great new books that I need and want to read, but for some reason, I feel the need to read TWD again before I read the Marvel and DC stuff.

Nah. Invincible was optioned as a movie, but not TWD. On the Kirkman board, the consensus seems to be that it would do better as like a HBO series or something. I kind of agree with that.Lightning Strike wrote:Has anyone heard any talk about a movie based on this book?
Whatever the case is, if any film based on the booked should be big time washed out instead of full-color. I also think there needs to be more story put out before any film is thought about.

I don't have HBO but if they did a show based on TWD, I'd buy it every month just to see that show.400yrs wrote:Nah. Invincible was optioned as a movie, but not TWD. Speaking of which, is Preacher officially dead on HBO? I know there was talk awhile back about doing it and then it was off and then on again. Anybody know?Lightning Strike wrote:I don't have HBO but if they did a show based on TWD, I'd buy it every month just to see that show.400yrs wrote:Nah. anything in particular that you've picked up on since re-reading them several times?400yrs wrote:And I kid you not, I have read through all the trades 4 times now and just 2 nights ago, I grabbed my TPB #1 to start reading again. for me in issue 7 when tyreese mentioned that julie's boyfriend chris had family problems, it made me wonder if Kirkman would ever mention those problems since later he ended up killing Julie in a botched suicide attempt. but I highly doubt it cause the story is way beyond this point now. still it makes me
