Sean Chen sculpted and painted Solar Statue
A few months ago I bid on and won (for an obscene amount of money)
an auction for a Sean Chen sculpted Solar Statue. (I'd do it again too)
(svair picture)
I already owned one, but the lure of an exclusive penguin as a bonus in the auction was too much for me to ignore . . . I emptied my paypal account and won my precious . . . It was worth every penny . . .
This second Solar statue was promised to a fellow board member that I made a deal with before I bid . . . but things came up (as they sometimes do) and unfortunately, he was unable to buy the statue at this point . . .
So that leads us to the reason for this thread . . . I will be auctioning off this statue in the upcoming week (maybe the week after) . . . There are only about 30 of these that exist and I really don’t see anyone ever selling theirs so, this may be your only chance to get your grubby little hands on one. . .
I am going to start the auction at the original price that these statues cost . . . This is considerably less than the deal I had going with the board member, but if that person wants to bid at this price please do so, I wont hold you to the other amount if you win . .
This will be a board only auction in the Registered Members section as I refuse to let an outsider own one of these . . . This masterpiece is the Grail in many of our collections . . . It is a full size statue and is about the same scale as Bowen FS statues (1:6 scale)
I wanted to give fair warning about this auction so everybody has a chance to get in on it . . . and maybe I can recoup some of the costs back into my bank account . . .
You will not be disappointed in this statue . . . it is even nicer in person . . .

I was actually eyeing the shirt, so will it be included with the statue?siren3-4 wrote:How much are you willing to pay for the ear ??DarqueArcher wrote:Nope someone's head and he is wearing a nice flannel shirtsiren3-4 wrote:I think that's a finger . . . I'll have to find out who took the picture . . . then who that is in the photo . . . hire a hitman to kill them and remove their ear and shirt . . but only if they are wearing that shirt . . . and then pack it in with the statue . .
OK . . no problem . . .

Agreed, and agreed!depluto wrote:True!childres wrote:Whoever gets this will not be sorry. I've got one and I consider it to be one of the best sculptures made. The detail is outstanding on these.

I thought I had missed out but barely made the cut line ... one of the coolest things I own.
I'm still thinking of how I can make my own "glowing base" for mine...
