Unity and Shadowman: Paul N'Dour - Liar
http://www.valiantentertainment.com/wik ... Geomancers
According to the book of geomancers, those who fail do not speak for the Earth.
This gives the entire debate over the Earth wanting Unity to last long enough for Kris to give birth a new perspective.
If Jack's presense was not as a result of the Earth's wishes, then the Earth did not want Unity to last as long as it did.
Didn't Paul tell Jack that he spoke for the Earth when he told him to go to the Lost Land? Those who fail, for a variety of reasons, are left with a heightened sense of the world but do not speak for the Earth.

Since Magnus _did_ already exist in Erica's timeline, prior to Unity, does that mean there was a "first Unity"?ManofTheAtom wrote:http://www.valiantentertainment.com/wik ... Geomancers

Was there already a Unity in (that particular) Erica Pierce's history?
Did baby Magnus already get to 4000AD because of another Unity we didn't see?
Did we read about the second Unity? (The one that failed?)
(Did they both fail?) (Just how many times did Unity occur?)
(How many different timelines split from that event?)
(How many different timelines split from Alpha & Omega?)
(...and wouldn't the geomancers in each split only have "their" truth?)
Ahhh... the possibilities.

Nah, it probably means that history already played its part as it was supposed to.Since Magnus _did_ already exist in Erica's timeline, prior to Unity, does that mean there was a "first Unity"?
At VALIANT, effect usually came before the cause, which is how Magnus could be alive even before Unity, or how Grandmother could create Rai in Bloodshot's image even before Geoff freed Angelo from Project Rising Spirit.
Unity resulted in two events that gave way to the 41st Century; Magnus' birth in the Lost Land and Geoff learning about Bloodshot.
Had it not been for Unity, Magnus would not have been sent to the 40th Century, and Geoff would not have known that he had to free Bloodshot.
Since Magnus and Rai predated Unity (i.e. effect), Magnus' birth and Bloodshot's release (i.e. cause) were predestined to occur.

"but it didn't go like this..." he says...
In (our) Unity, he gets a new scar.
We can't be "witnessing" the first Unity.
Eternal Warrior 4001 was part of a different one.
Magnus was born during Unity... a different one.

Of all the characters that could have made that remark, Shooter chose to give the line to an amnesic (sp?).
Gilad 4001 also warned his past self about a fight with Aram that he regreted having... that fight never happened.

Shooter also gave a brand new scar to Gilad. Not possible unless something changed.ManofTheAtom wrote:Are you going to trust the word of someone who underwent multiple psycho probings?greg wrote:Eternal Warrior 4001 remembered the war,

Something can change in Gilad's life and be limited to that one individual's life without affecting anything else.greg wrote:Shooter also gave a brand new scar to Gilad. Not possible unless something changed.
For Gilad, that scar was a change, but other characters didn't exhibit such alterations.

Then who is the baby that Solar brought to the future at the end of "our" Unity, if he isn't Magnus as we know him?greg wrote:We can't be "witnessing" the first Unity.

Wo else could have made that remark? Gilad was the only one who was present at Unity in both a younger AND older fashion.ManofTheAtom wrote:Are you going to trust the word of someone who underwent multiple psycho probings?greg wrote:Eternal Warrior 4001 remembered the war,

Aram could grow back a new pair of legs, but Gilad still had a scar from a tree branch two millennia later?!?!?! Huh???

The scar is not in the Post Unity comics, is it?
Does he even have it in Future Force?

It's rude to point out someone's flaws. The artists are kind. They also left out Geoff's continuous acne breakouts.ManofTheAtom wrote:Did it?BloodOfHeroes wrote:And about that scar...greg wrote:Shooter also gave a brand new scar to Gilad. Not possible unless something changed.

The scar left with Shooter, so... does it really count?
Let me put it another way
Did Shooter's Gilad in U2K have the scar?
