Quantum and Woody? Is it worth reading?

Post by Eternalwarrior68 »

Ok, so I have to admit I stopped reading valiant just before its untimely downfall back in the day. I like many others have decided to refresh my memories and collections. I was going through the characters section of the new site and read up on quantum, woody and Vincent Van Goat.
My god! A time traveling/Teleporting Goat!!!! I must read more! So heres the question which issues does Vincent appear in? and how hard is it to find said issues? Also what is your opinion of the Quantum and Woody series?

If you like humor, you'll like Q&W, I find it to be a fun read. If you require your superheroes on the serious side, I wouldn't touch it. I never found Vincent to be central to any of the Q&W stories, kind of just a joke pet character.

In my opinion Quantum and Woody is the best title that Acclaim produced. The later Shadowman books along with the Bloodshot work was pretty damn respectable as well, but that is all I really liked from Ack-Lame. :thumb:

Just my :twocents:

Quantum and Woody was great. As others have said don't go in looking for something too serious and you should enjoy it.

It was very similar in tone to BWS's A&A issues--light-hearted comedy, sprinkled with buddy-movie action. A teleporting goat isn't any more far-fetched than Aram's satchel, IMO. Priest is one the the best at combining tragey & comedy in the same tale. Didn't get a lot of heart-wrenching tragedy in A&A.

D@mned fine book. Enjoy!

If it's a part of a team-up, count me in!

Quantum and Archer discussing combat, while Armstrong and Woody go off in pursuit of wine and nippleage.

And Vincent'd just 'port to safety anyway.

I have found it was difficult to get a complete set all at one time. But good luck.

Quantum & Woody is a non-VALIANT comic that disregards the rules of the VALIANT Universe, like tight continuity, permanent death, real science, or the notion that it takes place outside your window.... so, if you're looking for a comic published by VALIANT that is not a VALIANT comic, this is for you :thumb:

On the other hand, if you're looking for comics that follow the core concepts of the VALIANT Universe, you should pass.

Is City Knights a VALIANT comic?

Nope.

Is Bad Eggs a VALIANT comic?

Nope.

Don't confuse publisher with universe.

Q&W is not a VALIANT comic.
