San Diego Comic-Con Event?
I was wondering...
Since I'm sure many of you go to the San Diego Comic-Con, why don't we try to plan some event for while we are all there? Something like meeting up at a pub one night? It strikes me that there are some really cool people on this site, and we share a commonality that will give us tons of stories, why not make a party out of it?
I dont' know, I'm new to this board in the last several days, but it sounded fun. Maybe that's because I haven't really got to know many of you yet
Or maybe you guys already do something like this at Comic-Con or another show and I just don't know about it. However, if we want to do something real cool I figured that there was no time like the present to start some planning. Maybe we can even wrangle one of the former Valiant artists or writers to do an event with.
I always love going to that show, and have every year since '93 (where I won one of the Valiant trivia contests - the bar that Archer and Armstrong met at was called "The End of the World Bar" or something like that).
I look forward to your ideas or repremands. Thanks everyone!
Kyle

That would be a great place, but I think we would need reservations as it always fills up quickly during Comic-Con. Are you local to SD? If you are, can you look into something like this when the time comes?screamingdc wrote:Gaslamp Billiards.... across the street about a block from the convention center... bar and pool hall, that way I can scam you guys out some cash playing some 9-ball.
Any other ideas? Does anyone know any of the Valiant writers/artists? Do you think they would be interested in coming? I know I'd buy them a drink or two!
I know I'm kind of thinking grand scale here, but I think we should throw out any and all ideas at this point. I mean who knows, maybe the guys that run this site could do one of those VcVVSS signings live for those in attendance (something like: bring your own copy of (fill in the blank) and get it signed and get a certificate).
Onward...

ha, the entire gaslamp district fills up during the con. it's a big tourist weekend here. i could look into some spots to have this get-together for sure. don't know how many of us there would be, but if Valiant writers/artists get involved, i'm sure word-of-mouth and net gossip would turn it into a big thing. if not pool, then i say we just meet at the Hooters down the street. you know the wings would be worth it.

I will be there on preview night July 13th to Sunday July 17th. I should have a table in the small press are which is usually near the artist alley.
Still figuring out where I will be staying. There will be at least 3 other people with me. Most of the Hotels in the area are @ 100.00 per night so I am gonna try to find a motel 6 or something.
