Hey fellas, got a question of the polybagged early issues. Were the cards that were gold foiled lettered more rare than the normal cards? I just got a lot in and in the mix are several early Ultraverses still poly'ed. Noticed a few cards have the gold foil on them.

Here is a scan of one, but it's not all that clear.

Anyone with more info please note it here.

If I remember correctly, all polybagged cards were goldfoil. Later cards, were promos sent along with magazines like Wizard and such. Of course, we are relying on memory here.

Not all of them. I have some poly'ed with the normal cards. What made me wonder about the foil cards is that there are $19.95 sticker prices on a few of these. So I wondered if they were a premium item back then?

I remember all my #1s had gold foil cards... #1s to Prime, Mantra, Hardcase, Strangers and maybe another.

I've got some with foil, some without. I think there are quite a few different cards in the various PB books, but nobody ever threw together a list.

I do remember the cards being gold too.

SO i wonder if the non gold were issues when they ran out of Gold cards?

Or maybe it was some type of second print.

That matches up with the C1-5 that I have.

I have other cards in polybags besides these though ... my crap is stored away and I'm not sure where unfortunately. But there are other cards in some of the bags.

I got the 5000, but it was missing the bottom two thirds of the book almost.

Definitely sleep deprivation... it is 10 minutes to 3 am, I just finished Resistance: Fall of Man on the PS3. WHEW what a game... I think Resistance 2 comes out in a couple of months.
