SQUIRRELS 2ND ANNUAL KIDNEY BENEFIT NEEDS YOUR HELP!!
Last year on May-17 I held a benefit @ Smalls in Hamtramck, MI (a Detroit bordering city). All door proceeds went to The National Kidney Foundation. It was a HUGE succes. We raised more money then we ever imagined!! The bands were great and everyone had a blast!!
This year were going to do it again!!!
As many of you know, Squirrel (lead singer of the Detroit Oi band - The Cavity Creeps, and long time punk scene supporter) has renal disease, kidney failure, and relies on dialysis treatments 3 times a week for 4 ½ hours each time to stay alive! I’ve been on the kidney transplant list since 2006. Things don’t always get better for people on dialysis as this is after all an artificial way to do what your body is to be doing naturally!
This year it will be held Saturday, May 3, 2008. We plan to have 5-6 bands! Also, the NKF walk at the Detroit Zoo this year is May 18, 2008
We are looking for bands that would like to play and companies/bands to donate items for a ‘door prize’ and ‘raffle’ drawing. Such as cd’s, t-shirts, gift certificates, ad space in your magazine/zine, etc.
If you can help in any way please contact me with what you can help with!
Here is the poster we had for last year’s event. Done by the extremely talented, Craig Holloway, who has designed MANY posters, logos, cd covers, etc. Recently doing the new AGNOSTIC FRONT cd cover!!

SO FAR WE HAVE CONFIRMED -
Jimmy Doom (poet & vocalist of Detroit punk legends A.L.D.),
Lisa Vicious (poet),
Grommet (band),
Anti-Social Degenerates (band)
& The Cavity Creeps (band)
Thanks a bunch for reading. Hope to see ya there!

The artist Douglas Paszkiewicz (harvest moon, arsenic lullaby, too much coffee man magazine, the thousand deaths of baron von donut, pete the p.o.d postal worker and of course MAD magazine) did a poster for my annual National Kidney Foundation benefit May-3-2008 here in Metro Detroit.
As many of you know, I am on the kidney organ donation list and am in need of a kidney since october-2006. The NKF has helped me pay ALOT of my medical bills to keep that burden off my shoulders, and is helping pay for the medicines and dialysis that is needed to keep me alive!!!!
Doug was also gracious enuogh to donate the original art that made up the poster, and here I am to auction it off! Thanks in advance if anyone even bids!
ALL proceeds go to the NKF. below is the flyer & the original art page!
BID IS AT = $275 (MEDICAR)
