No embossing, no cert (unless you have the letter that was mailed out with it, which I don't)...I do have the holder though...for whatever that is worth.

A regular CEAR sells for $100+.

What would this one sell for....? :hm:
Why didn't they VVSS this book? Is it because it was already a retailer incentive issue?
Yeah, the other VVSS' were all regular books.

It would have been really weird (to them, at that time) to VVSS something that was already a premium/variant.

I sold one in the original VALIANT mylar with the letter, I think it went for over $200, but that was a while ago.

I have one of these signed CEAR's also. I have seen a few of these for sale from time to time, but, only Brother J's had the letter.

I wish I had the letter.

Actually they are 35k...they are STILL being made, A company in ohio (I believe) is making them out of original parts left over from the warehouse when they went under. this company bought the warehouse that included shelved parts. its pretty much a 'kit' you get and they assemble it. They also sell originals, they go for 50k! (Saw this on a Discovery Channel show a couple weeks ago)

I had a friend who had one in the early 80's. I drove it, it sucked. I was driving a 1981 280zx at the time, probably the best built car I ever had and I have had a lot of cars. The ZX was a dream compare to the DMC at that time, probably 82 or 83 right around when I got out of college.

After about a year or so the Stainless Steel body on the DMC really looked lbad in my opinion, depending on how much it was driven. The doors became kind of creaky and weird after a year or so. My buddy was a high flying software programmer with Digital at the time, he moved on and I don't know what happened to the car, or him either.

I've got one of the 5 on the CGC census. 9.0 with the letter. Bought two of them (one signed one not) off a newsgroup (rec.arts.comics.sale IIRC) in the late 90s for $15 each. Slabbed both, the unsigned fetched a 9.2, and sold it on eBay a few years ago. I think I got about $200 for it. Still got the signed book.

So see, sometimes it pays to speculate on yesterdays 'hot' items.

(Anybody want to buy a few cases of Valiant Era Series 1 cards?? :D )

The word needs to get out.

I didn't even know about this until I read this thread. I would just have thought it was another Chaos Red but signed.

It IS just another CEAR signed unless you have the letter, it's not embossed and there is no COA. It may have come in a VALIANT mylar, but since most of those have degraded over the years, I don't see it adding much value.
