Question about history of CGC Sigs

I have a dilema theres a book that I"m interested in, book value on it is 60.00 in Wizard, it's variant cover, and it's graded 9.9 mint and it's a CGC Sig series.

What should I offer on a book that's 9.9 mint and auto'ed, and the book in itself is hard to find.

If you REALLY want it, whatever you are willing to pay, I'd say.

Honestly the sig is not very appealing to me, it's nice but it doesn't sway me. And the seller has said his price is negotiable.

60.00 is what one sold for 2 years ago in 9.8 condition.

Well a 9.8 sold for 60.00 dollars two years ago. But that being, I understand what you have is diffrent, but man there's no market value for your book. I see your asking price and it scares the chit out me. lol.
I would compare it to the one that sold last week. Halloween Nightdance issue #2 CGC 9.8 autographed by Tony Moran it sold for 155.00.

Now theres two points diffrent, your book is older and a little less popular than the current series. The one that sold last week was the incentive cover of issue 2, which according to collectors is one of the hardest to attain, and it was in 9.8 condition.
Now yours is in 9.9 and it's rare too. But comparing them despite their diffrences I think the 9.9 covers the diffrences, although you may not want to here that it sold for only 155.00. So obviously thats no where near your asking price.
I think a fair price for this book in my opinion, and keep in mind I am a collector of these books, would be about 300.00 in my opinion. I mean no disrespect.

This book rarely comes up unslabed, so slabed in that condition is nice, but do you ever get the feeling that people put stuff up on the bay knowing that you are the only dumbazz that's going to buy it....

His asking price is a fantasy.

It's a chromium book.

True, there is only one on the census....but there are only 9 total graded.

I also question CGC's making this a sig series when Tony Moran is not a creator on that book, just an actor.

I look at this as a novelty item, not a genuine collectible. I would have been more impressed if this had been a regular 9.9.

I would say a reasonable offer for this book would be about $150.

I know the seller, and while he starts out really high on some stuff, he also knows about what a book should actually bring and generally can be very reasonable.

I think he's after some extra cash for San Diego, too.

I kinda figured he was shooting high in hopes somebody would bite, but man 1000 Theres really only a handful off people that buy these books of ebay, the last CGC Sig book signed by Tony, it got bid on twice, once by me and two by this other guy and he won it, had it not been for the signature I would have stayed up to win it but you can get Tony Moran's auto on the cheap. That being said I think I may have over priced this book in my email to him, (300) but who knows there is no real market value for it. But I agree with ZWH, if it wasn't signed this book would be a real nice addition, it being 9.9 and all. I think 200-400 for this book unsigned would be fair. He might have ruined it a bit for the true collectors, and I don't think casual Halloween fans are going to pay the kind of money he's asking. But we'll see.
