Bob Layton signed it on 4/19/2008 and Jim Shooter signed it on 9/27/2008 per the CGC label. When did the Bob Layton incident occur? Was that a little before the X-O HC was released?ckb wrote:I just wonder which of the two gentlemen put their differences aside and signed the book with the other's signiture already present...

That is one sweet comic book, the owner must have had nerves of steel to have the comic cracked out of the slab once if not twice! I just don't think I could handle it myself, I'd be a mess each time.
I think it would be a good time to buy this if anyone has the cash, the market is a bit flat at the moment in general, Bloodshot platinum exempt, so it might go for a steal. I would be surprised to see it go over three grand but you never can tell as its the first of its kind.

Ok, never mind. The auction gives a good explanation of the whole process. If your asking the same question I am....lobo wrote:How does that work? CGC verifies signatures onsite do they not? So you get a signature, have CGC verify it some how, take the book home, gather more signatures at a later date, then have CGC verify again and resubmit for grading?

I nearly wept when I saw this. I have grown to love the SS Books so much, and this would be among the top 5 or so books I'd ever want.
Well, after...
Flash 105 (Infantino)
GI Combat 87 (Kubert)
Marvel Premiere 57 (Gibbons,Simonson.... OH wait, I've got that with a CGC witness right now. )
Man Thing 1 1st Series (Brunner) (I'm planning on getting this one done at next year's Gem City Con in Dayton )
