Bob Layton signed it on 4/19/2008 and Jim Shooter signed it on 9/27/2008 per the CGC label. When did the Bob Layton incident occur? Was that a little before the X-O HC was released?

That is one sweet comic book, the owner must have had nerves of steel to have the comic cracked out of the slab once if not twice! I just don't think I could handle it myself, I'd be a mess each time.

I think it would be a good time to buy this if anyone has the cash, the market is a bit flat at the moment in general, Bloodshot platinum exempt, so it might go for a steal. I would be surprised to see it go over three grand but you never can tell as its the first of its kind.

How does that work? CGC verifies signatures onsite do they not? So you get a signature, have CGC verify it some how, take the book home, gather more signatures at a later date, then have CGC verify again and resubmit for grading?
