Birth of the Defiant Universe for auction, non-eBay

I figure there's enough people here looking for this book that I can probably save on the eBay fees and just sell it here. I have a NM copy of Birth of the Defiant Universe signed by Jim Shooter and numbered #391/1000. It does NOT come with the gloves or letter but is complete otherwise and in great shape. Here's a picture of the book:

Opening bid is $40.00, otherwise, I'll just keep it. I'll accept bids via PM or e-mail (joepiecho@aol.com) for this until Monday morning 9:00 AM Central. Let's make the bid increments $2.50, meaning the winner will only pay $2.50 more than the second highest bid. Shipping will be $3.00 for USPS First Class mail securely packaged. It hasn't ended yet, bidding officially ends at tomorrow morning 9:00 AM Central, but there hasn't been a bid in a few days, so I assume it's going to end at the price it is at now, at $62.50

At any rate bro J does nicely which is cool. The book sold for what it usually does on ebay too.

hmmm, methinks it's a good idea to keep the bidders' ID to myself...

I could have listed this on eBay and possibly gotten more for it, too so I think it worked out well for everyone and I preferred selling it to someone on the board who truly needed it for their collection. Of course I got the luxury of avoiding eBay fees and the uncertainty of dealing with someone new.

It's a fine line we walk, as a bidder, I don't want to drive the prices up for friends or fellow board members but as a seller I want to get top dollar for books when I sell them.
