Anyone collect Lionel Trains??

Just wondering if anyone here collects Lionel trains? My awesome uncle gave me his from the 40's on my 6th Christmas, and I've put it up every Christmas which has been cool. Just brings back memories as a kid, was wondering if anyone else had similar experiences.

My son was HUGE into Thomas The Tank Engine specifically, and trains in general for the longest time (from about 4 to 6 years old). It was all he talked about, read about, watched on TV, drew pictures of, etc. I always wanted to get him a nice Lionel set but just never had the cash.

Just a bit of useless info... the Lionel toy factory was here in Michigan about 8 miles north of Detroit (in Mt.Clemens,MI) and as a 18yr boy I worked on the assembly line making the red cabooses and then worked on a press making the control boxes....it was really cool to be in the ONLY place in the world they made the classic Lionel train !!

I have a cousin who received a Lionel train around that time, you may have made, that's pretty sweet

My Dad collects some Lionel stuff. He sticks to the mostly post-war collection over the later editions. He likes getting the models he would have had as a kid. He's got some nice pieces!
