What ones did you get? I wasn't able to go this year. I heard about a Aliens Predator one from Dark Horse that was pretty cool.jordan silo wrote:PM me.

But Free Comic Book Day books are going to be worth a LOT of money in the future!
I want them all so that I can retire early, and selling them immediately after they were given away for free is a brilliant idea!
-it's up to you to decide if I'm being sarcastic or not-
But hey, I'm interested in some of them because I missed FCBD! If there are any for:
Iron Man
Witchblade
Savage Dragon
Avengers
Indiana Jones
then I'd like them!

I was wondering teh same thing. For some reason I thought he was giving them away if you missed getting one. But now I am thinking he is selling them.IMJ wrote:Thanks for the PM Jordan! However, I'm not clear... are you trying to sell these or help out those who missed FCBD?

You know, FCBD is supposed to be an opportunity for possible new collectors/buyers and fans to try a new book with the hopes that they will like it and start buying it, giving a boost to the industry. Unfortunately, it's turned into a $$$ day for some people.Chiclo wrote:Not the first time this charlatan has sold FCBD books here.x-omatic wrote:I was wondering teh same thing. The best way to counter this is for the comic companies to start demanding that the shops stamp each comic with their store name, and if the stores don't comply, then they don't get free comics the next year.
I got mine from Zach and that's what he did, and I'm glad he did. That will help deter people from trying to resell them for $$$, which is not what that day is for.

I love getting copies from all over with stamps on for my weird free, preview editions etc.
Not really sure what restrictions should be put on retailers.
The publisher is not taking much risk here.
Reprints mainly that retailers have to buy to give away.
It can work if you so it right, so no complaints from me on whether the whole thing is worth a damn.
i did the first one and fully support the idea till the erath crashes into the sun.
Every day is free comic book day for me, as we always simply give some away.
It really befuddles people at first, but they soon come back and stay.
The selling aspect here is just someone trying to make a buck, but a comic is a comic and so should be sold traded etc without a right and wrong, but sure it does take the play away from the whole point here i agree.
The ribbing of the seller here is that they did it before and at no point that i could tell were they in any way attempting to spread the love.
Free comic book day is spreading the love in the simplest way.
Give them away and get more people into more comics because it makes sense for us all in the long run.
Amen.

Come to think about it, Mail Order Comics has never sent me the FCBD stuff - which is a bit annoying. I should write them a harshly worded email.superman-prime wrote:stack meaning 6 issues

I got one of each title (or really close at least) from Free Comic Book Day because my LCS was just that cool. I kept certain titles for myself, got several for my girls, and set some aside for my friends that were only allowed one title apiece at their respective stores and plan on giving them away. To me, that's the spirit of FREE Comic Book Day.

I no longer have ANY dealings with Mr. Silo here.
Just making a statement.
He does say he is happy to give them away now, if you pay postage.
Cant be all that bad.
