You know, I hate to be cynical, but as excited as I am about these, I truthfully can't see any of these titles lasting terribly long. Again, I just don't see the market sustaining it.

But maybe Dark Horse is basing this outing on the interest they got in the GK hardcovers and thereby know something we don't.

I hope they prove me dead wrong, too!! :thumb:

I certainlay agree, I know people have bought the hardcovers but have zero interest in any new books with them in, so we'll see.

Fortunately, a company like DH doesn't have to sell a huge number of issues to be on the right side of things. They probably aren't paying their writers and artists the huge page rates of the big 2 guys and I'd imagine there isn't nearly as much overhead.

I do agree that it's going to be tough though.

It may be tough but DH has a proven track record. It’s about time they launched a hero line and the GK heroes are a great start. I remain hopeful...

I am pleasantly and warmly suprised by the level of ambition being shown by DH here - 5 titles is more than I expected. I thought possibly just the 4 to beigin with, so for me this is great news.

I hope the titles do tie up somehow, to give a sense of a shared universe.

Well it does say 5 titles but it says they will be rolled out "Over several months", so maybe only 2 for the initial launch, Magnus and Solar.

I assume they are still planning on bringing back Dark Horse Presents and introducing this line as Dark Horse has already indicated, which will be a 6th title, at least while this line is appearing in it. Has anyone heard differently about Dark Horse Presents being used for this launch?

Cool to see that Dark Horse Presents is still being launched. So the title count is up to 6 now?

They should just rename the anthology book "Jim Shooter Presents" so his old properties get featured on there too....(Plasm, Fatale, Dark Dominion....)

They can even do a "Dogs of War" reunion story since Georges Jeanty is on the Buffy title too. :thumb:

I'd buy it!

Jewel Of The Summertime!

Thanks for all the info folks! These books will bring me back to comic shops for the first time in a long time!

I do have hopes of a crossover that can work for the benefit of both companies although I know its wishful thinking, it would really be the smart move for both camps, time will tell.

Cheers to 2010, hope its much better than '09.
