Well of course we all know of the DH re-print rights, but in the lawsuit filed by VEI didn't it say they were in negotiations to license the GK3 for new books and that's part of the reason for the lawsuit, because now the deal has fallen through, due to Jim jumping to DH? Of course the fine print of that flyer contradicts what VEI claims. I'm pretty sure it mentioned something about that in the lawsuit, but I can't look for the exact wording at the moment.

Maybe their "new material" rights had expired since 2005?

The 2005 date for DH having the rights for new Magnus material doesn't seem to make much sense. Don't forget that Ibooks had the rights for new Magnus stories during that time. It was in October of 2005 that they released their TPB. I think it was their intention of doing three books total if memory serves.

That is not true... I wouldn't speak for 'we'. Case in point, I was not aware.

Just sayin' we can't speak for 'everyone' or make that large of a generalization. :thumb:

You're not aware of the hard cover re-prints that Dark Horse did?? That's what I'm referring to :?

Well the what the hell is VEI basing their lawsuit on?? You can't say "we were in negotiations for the rights" if someone else already owns the rights. Or maybe I completely mis-read that part of the lawsuit :?

Nothing. But then 50% of the pending lawsuits in America are based on nothing.

I would imagine the I Books deal was for a set amount of books with a view to more if they sold well and we know how that went down, so im not sure they had the rights for new material in the same manner that DH do now.
Just a thought.

Not that I recall, I do remember the Solar hard cover re-prints. But even if I did, I am referring to the fact that (this is a common error) you cannot speak for 'everyone'. "Well of course, we all know of the DH re-print rights"... that is an incorrect statement because you cannot speak for everyone, not even everyone in the thread unless we all make it known to the fact. That is like saying, 'But of course, everybody hated Psi-Lords." When that is not the truth, I for one liked it and I am sure other board members liked it as well. We just cannot 'generalize' in a statement like that, not even when it seems most obvious. That is all I am saying... try not to speak for everybody.

We cool, bruh ? :thumb:

I have to reread it and decide. It has been years and I remember very little of it.

I would have expected the number to be closer to 80%

Tony Bedard was ahead of his time with this book. Wouldn't mind seeing DH and Shooter bring him on to help write Magnus. :hm:

When I met Bedard for the first time this past summer at a Con [my first Con since Acclaim folded], I had him sign my TUROK DVD and asked if he'd heard about Shooter & Dark Horse. He replied that he had and that he was excited about reading Shooter's new take on the characters.

He also said that getting the DVD made came with some challenges and that it didn't look like there'd be a sequel. :|

Yeah, that's the one. For some reason I thought you were talking about the regular release.
