We should all meet one day. (Like the San Diego Comic Con) and give/exchange comics. Unfortunately for me I waited and didn't get tickets. I usually go Sat.Dr. Solar wrote:I don't really know how I got so many comics, and I can't really name what they all are.
I've got my Valiant set (700 comics)
"worthwhile" Valiant doubles, ie. pre-unity and gold books (~200 books)
a mostly-complete reading set of Valiant (~500 books)
two boxes of "worthless" Valiant extras (~400 books)
Partial VH2 collection (~50 books)
My defiant set (50 books)
Uncanny X-Men 144-280 (~140 books)
New Mutants (~110 books)
Excalibur (50 books)
Partial "claremont-era" X-Factor set (~30 books)
Partial Green Lantern collection (~250 books)
Current Green Lantern and GLC runs (~100 books)
Wow, that's around 2,500 right there, plus another thousand or so in random stuff I don't need or want...
I've got about 400 recent X-books I don't want, a 280-issue run of Detective I don't want, tons of other stuff..
Time to see if I can get rid of stuff on Craigslist.
It would be nice to get down to get down to 2,000 books, 2,500 max.

I listened to three episodes at work today! That was cool. I'm done with Episode ten now, and ready for eleven.
The Harbinger episode was one of my favorites so far.
It is amazing and a little sad to listen to how pumped up you guys were for VEI and the excitement level there. Zeph going so far as to put hardcovers into retailers hands at cons...
Question on the Harby episode. I'm pretty sure that in Ninjak 0 or 00 they said that Ninjak was indeed a Harbinger. I'm trying to remember if that was ever said about Shadowman (Jack)? Sean said he was not, and I was thinking that maybe he was, but I might just be remembering the spider alien blood mixed with voodoo from Nettie. Was there a harbinger angle as well?

I don't think so.Chiclo wrote: Had we introduced the character DeDee by then?
Up to this point you've had a few guests like, mota, BTE and wrunow along with some guy named Shuutar or something, JJ and Bernard.
Last night I listened to most of the Shadowman character spotlight with Elveen and it is now my favorite. I guess you guys just keep getting better. It was really cool that veen had just read the books, he added alot.
So, who's DeDee?

Oh! Okay. Interesting that you should ask...I just listened to the SDCC show and I believe it was rufusharly's girlfriend who was on. Zeph then said that having a female on was an OTV first (which I thought was right) but then Sean said that there had been giggling from Chiclo's (then) girlfriend before. I had never noticed it though-so it's not really a true First Appearance, more like a cameo wouldn't you say?

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner on this.dave wrote:Chiclo, what do you look forward to the most each month as it comes out?
I'd like to be enjoying a new monthly...
There are a few books that always make it to the top of my stack. Here's a non-comprehensive list:
Birds of Prey
Gotham City Sirens
Secret Six
Fables
Thunderbolts
Thanos Imperative (or Guardians of the Galaxy and Nova)
X-Factor
X-Men Forever 2
Incorruptible and Irredeemable
Project Superpowers and related titles (Black Terror)
Green Hornet Year One
Lone Ranger
Zorro
Tick New Series
Booster Gold, Doom Patrol and Power Girl are all on the cusp.
There's a new mini-series called Days Missing: Kestus - it's another one mined from Rodenberry's notebooks - and the first mini always made it to the top of my stack.
I must say, as excited as I get about the Project Superpowers books, I think I get more excited about them than I enjoy them if that makes sense.

Worth picking up in trade. I really feel like the first issue was the strongest.400yrs wrote:I read the first issue and I liked it. The following issues still followed the format of showing an alternate history and then the Steward folding a day and fixing things for humanity with a single or few acts. It was pretty cool and unlike anything else out there.

I think I might pick up BOP and Zorro and X-factor...
I liked the Booster Gold edition of BN so maybe...
The excitement idea makes complete sense. I was really excited about Blackest Night at the beginning and got more and more involved in it, but before even the half-way point I stopped being excited about reading the latest book.
Not sure if this has been mentioned, but JayJay started a thread about Only The Valiant over at Dark-Key. Sorry if this has already been brought up.
