Valiant Marketing Plans 1992 May to Dec (CC)
The 31-page Valiant marketing plans from May to Dec 1992 folder was distributed to retailers who attended the 5th Annual Capital City Sales Conference on May 5th 1992 (sponsored by Capital City Distribution Inc.) in Madison, WI. It can be viewed here: http://www.valiantfans.com/Valiant1992M ... alCity.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I particularly like this spider alien character sketch by BWS.
Here is the 5th Annual Capital City Sales Conference pin that was given out to the conference attendees.
Here is another set of the Valiant Marketing Plans. This 2nd set has whiter pages and the print quality is slightly different (black ink is more raised to the touch). But after comparing both sets, neither is a copy of each other. In some cases, the 1st set has more details along the edges than the 2nd set. In other cases, the 2nd set has more details along the edges than the 1st set. I guess both sets are copies of a more "master" set. Content and page count wise, they are both the same.

Valiant Marketing Plans 1993 May to Nov
There are at least 2 versions of the May to Nov 1993 Marketing Plans. Here is comicsyte95's copy: http://www.valiantfans.com/Valiant1993Marketing.pdf
Below are pictures of my copy. The front cover looks the same as comicsyte's copy.
Here's a pic of the spreadout plans showing the front and back. In my copy, the back has text. While in comicsyte's copy, the back has the X-O #0 cover.
Here's a pic of the centerfold pages. In my copy, the page on the right has Deathmate art with Grifter, Shadowman, Dr Eclipse, and Master Darque. In comicsyte's copy, it has text about Deathmate Yellow.
There are other art and page order differences.

Softball jersey worn by Madeleine E. Robins. She was an editor at Acclaim Comics for about 3 years for Armed and Dangerous, Magnus Robot Fighter, Shadowman and other titles.

Below is the email exchange tracking down the history of the jersey:bernardchang wrote:the first version were the old bloodshot (green sleeved) jerseys with number printed on the back.
the second version, which is the one sported in the pictures you posted, have everything sewn on a black-pinnstriped cotton jersey.
the third and last was a red-pinnstripped cotton jersey with "acclaim comics" screen-printed on the front.
there was also a valiant cap, which was part of the valiant line of clothes.

This may be a weird question but were you an editor at Acclaim Comics? If so, do you know anything about this Acclaim softball jersey? I am trying to track down the history and wonder if you know. The other Acclaim "Robins" is Clem Robins so I am going to check with him as well.
Thanks,
Iggy
Madeleine E Robins -> her daughter -> San Francisco thrift shop -> San Francisco buyer -> San Francisco buyer moves to New York -> sells on eBay to me (who is in the San Francisco Bay Area) -> research to determine jersey belonged to Madeleine E RobinsMadeleine E Robins wrote:Hi, yes, I was an editor at Acclaim for about three years (and yes, I had an Acclaim softball jersey because I was on the team; one of my daughters has it now).
My brother Clem did some art for me in the Classics Illustrated line, but in comics he's better known in the industry for his fine lettering.
That make it all plain?
Best,
Madeleine

Framed Uncut Valiant Era II First Appearances Sheet
Retailer incentive framed uncut Valiant Era II First Appearances sheet. It was given out the retailers in 1994 and measures about 22” x 28”. It reads “Pyramid by the Upper Deck Company commemorates the 1994 Retailer Seminar. Thank You Diamond Comic Retailers for your support.”
It is similar to the uncut X-O Manowar hologram sheet in that it was given out to retailers. The difference is that the uncut X-O Manowar hologram sheet was given to Capital City retailers and this uncut First Appearances sheet was given to Diamond retailers. Also I don’t think the uncut X-O Manowar hologram sheet was framed like this one.
The following 2 pictures were taken by the seller:
Unfortunately, the glass panes broke during shipping. The uncut sheet was not damaged. Below are pictures of it taken out of the frame, revealing the Upper Deck, Diamond, and Valiant logos that were previoiusly hidden.

Upper Deck Valiant Era Trading Cards in Wooden Box
#52/100 originally owned by Valiant artist Joe St Pierre. Signed by Joe St Pierre at bottom of wooden box. This limited edition set was given away at release party at Chicago Comics Convention on 7/2/1993.
Includes: Bloodshot Retailer Chrome (x6), Upper Deck Pyramid hologram card, Valiant Era Series 1 Unseen Art inserts U1 to U9, Valiant Era Series 1 base cards #1-120, Turok Retailer Chrome, Ninjak Retailer Chrome, Predator vs Magnus Robot Fighter #3 (x2)
Here is something that I just picked up to go along with the Pyramid Wooden Box Set . . .
1993 18th Annual Chicago Comicon Guide. It's a flip-book with the regular cover and a flip Neil Gaiman Sandman cover. Neil Gaiman was the guest of honor so half the guide was devoted to him. The guide has a 1-page ad on Dr. Mirage and various other LCS ads featuring Valiant and Defiant. Note the long box held by Spawn full of X-O Manowar #14.
