Harbinger 1 ... one of the original cornerstones of the Valiant Universe.

If I had neither and could only have one, I would take the Harby. You can always read the Unity story in a blue.

Tuff call, but I picked Unity Red for three reasons:

1. Classic cover featuring all of Valiants top characters.

2. First part of Valiant's best crossover.

3. The Red version has a much lower print run than Harbinger #1. Something like 10:1

However, I know that back in the heyday of Valiant, Harby #1 was at $125, while Unity Red hovered around $100. Plus you need to figure in how many Harby #1 had the coupon cut out, plus how many of both issues were destroyed by accidents, fire, etc. Unity Red will always be harder to find, IMO. I've only had two.---Steve

I voted for Harbinger #1 - I thought it was a GREAT book and enjoyed it a lot. :) I'm not saying Unity was a bad story - it was quite good, I just liked Harbinger #1 more. :thumb:

Unity Red easily, what's the controversy about?

Unity Red =2,500-5,000 print run= at least a $50 book

Harbinger #1 = 48,000 print run=$20-$25 book

You know I've read in a few posts that people don't like that Unity Red is a being voted because of its value. But if Harbinger #1 was printed in the same quantities as Unity Red it would be worth far more than $50-60. If....I mean when Valiant returns Harby #1 will be a more valuable book. I think most people are voting for a combination of things and value is just a small part.

I would take the Unity Red...

I don't have one
It's a cool variant of a great BWS cover
It's worth more
It's Solar... Don't call him Dr. Phil!

without any rules or guidelines in place for choosing the out come will be Unity RED. I be if it was stated that faced with the choice of only owning 1 Valiant period, which would you choose. I think many more would pick Harbinber 1. But because of $$$ more people will pick Unity RED right now.

If they were both worth a dollar each, I would still pick Unity RED. This book had more sentiment to me than Harb. I'd rather reread the unity run than the early Harbs so that's where my thinking is at.
