Key Valiant Slabs
Here's a Solar 10 in CGC 9.8. It looks pretty tempting at this price.

He says in the listing: "ANY STREAKS YOU SEE ON THE PICTURES ARE ON THE SCANNER GLASS, NOT THE CASE"...
I'd get validation before banging that button, but not a bad opener price-wise. I think he definitely takes $300, too.
I got one for $295 shipped a few months ago off a (wishful) listing of $599.
It is so gorgeous.

That seller is a very well known ex-member here, you can trust his auctions, that's for sure.rygriffin333 wrote:He says in the listing: "ANY STREAKS YOU SEE ON THE PICTURES ARE ON THE SCANNER GLASS, NOT THE CASE"...

Well, because he's never received any offers? Hey I'd love to see it sell for that price, I own one of the other 2 known copies (and mine would easily grade higher than 7.5), I just don't think the market is there. But if he's listing these with free ebay listing (haven't seen any of those days lately?), why not.Chiclo wrote:Why relent? I don't think he needs the money. This is a singular and unique item and may just sell at that price.GGSAE wrote:I'm also surprised he hasn't relented a bit on his Maxx#3 Black; I'd love to see a sale at that price, but I just don't think it's gonna happen.
Fast nickel or slow dime? There's a time and place to go for the slow dime.GGSAE wrote:Well, because he's never received any offers? So what are you saying? I don't think erratic sales history applies in either case, lots of subjectivity in sales.StarBrand wrote:Fast nickel or slow dime? In my opinion, sometimes it makes sense to be extremely patient when trying to make a sale.GGSAE wrote:So what are you saying? Well, having over 22,000 posts and having met and becoming friends with many of the board members will do that. That being said, he had many strong opinions that he defended vigorously, which rubbed many people the wrong way and lead to him being removed from the board. He was also the third host on Only the Valiant, but has now removed himself from that, as well.kevinbastos wrote:Out of curiosity, how does one become a 'trusted' ex-member here?GGSAE wrote: That seller is a very well known ex-member here, you can trust his auctions, that's for sure.
Not that I'm interested in becoming an ex-member.

Sure but with illiquid sales transactions, at which price is being patient? Is 10 times the going rate realistic? How about the almost zero BOs, which happens when things are priced outside of its market.StarBrand wrote:In my opinion, sometimes it makes sense to be extremely patient when trying to make a sale.GGSAE wrote:So what are you saying? Just playing devils advocate here, I wish him all the best in his sales! And like I said, I stand to gain from a high price in sales just as much as ZWH does.
You make a legit point.GGSAE wrote:Sure but with illiquid sales transactions, at which price is being patient? Is 10 times the going rate realistic? Good seeing you here, Squirrel. The market dropped on key Valiants when VEI seemingly sputtered a while back. Now that VEI looks strong and ready to launch, the market on those keys seems to be returning.Squirrel wrote:$426.....I remember when the movie was "announced" a few yrs back they were going for over $1kStarBrand wrote:Let's see what this Harby 1 in CGC 9.8 goes for.

Re:
Sorry I should have mentioned this sooner; ZWH uses the Maxx 3 listing as advertising, and the more I think about the auction I tend to agree with the price. There should be a steep premium on something you hold dear and most likely won't ever be willing to attain again. And what's 50 cents in listing fees?StarBrand wrote:You make a legit point.GGSAE wrote:Sure but with illiquid sales transactions, at which price is being patient?
