My friend who has a pretty large customer base has had great feedback on the new launch and my DC orders are already close to four times what they were, which isnt that high to be fair as wee are still re growing new sales here, but overall i keep hearing about people trying this out, so regardless of the people who didnt buy DC & don't care, the ones who picked up a few titles and are annoyed about changes or the ones who bought lots and hate the new# 1's. this is working and doing good things for retailers already.

That's really good to hear. I'm glad DC has tried this, in view of the diminishing comic book market. A lot of the ideas seem fresh, and Johns is a great creator to spearhead something like this.Draco wrote:My friend who has a pretty large customer base has had great feedback on the new launch and my DC orders are already close to four times what they were, which isnt that high to be fair as wee are still re growing new sales here, but overall i keep hearing about people trying this out, so regardless of the people who didnt buy DC & don't care, the ones who picked up a few titles and are annoyed about changes or the ones who bought lots and hate the new# 1's. this is working and doing good things for retailers already.

Initially, yeah, it's definitely going to be good for retailers. But they need to be careful on their orders.Draco wrote:My friend who has a pretty large customer base has had great feedback on the new launch and my DC orders are already close to four times what they were, which isnt that high to be fair as wee are still re growing new sales here, but overall i keep hearing about people trying this out, so regardless of the people who didnt buy DC & don't care, the ones who picked up a few titles and are annoyed about changes or the ones who bought lots and hate the new# 1's. this is working and doing good things for retailers already.
Can you explain the return policy on these? I can't remember exactly, but aren't they allowing returns on the first 4 issues or something? They have to do that or retailers are going to get killed.
I'd prefer if they did it for the first year. That would allow retailers to really lock in the order numbers. DC should take the risk. It shouldn't be put on the retailers.
Stores that don't use FOC could be screwed after issue 4 if people start dropping titles like crazy. Not many people are going to keep up with all 52 titles.

It's the first three months for 75% of the titles, which is better than anything offered before. If retailers are smart this can be great and by offering returns on this DC have set a standard that hopefully others can follow, fingers crossed.400yrs wrote:Initially, yeah, it's definitely going to be good for retailers. CrapCrapCrap!

Editor's Note My @$$! I have bought and read both of these and they both leave off with cliffhangers and so far NO tie-in to Flashpoint or even an indication of how they could tie into the relaunch. If fact as aftermath stories they blow.
