My first CGC book! :D

If you don't mind me asking what did you pick it up for? I'm hoping to pick one up myself, but I have a few others things to get first.

$450 - not cheap, but less than they've been selling for on eBay recently. Plus, if I'm going to have ONE CGC 9.8 Valiant book, that's the one I want.

If any of those are up for turnaround, I might be interested. The RPG's for the SNES, particularly if even out of the box, they have the guide. I can always use another copy of an SNES Square game, or Lufia.

Pretty happy about this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/200670340474?ss ... 1497.l2649" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This auction was up for 30 mins before I snagged it, just 1 away from a full Maxx Ashcan Set! This#2 Red has been surprisingly very tough to find, not many of them floating around...

I also picked up an X-O gold 1/2 for $7 total.

A while back I got a large chunk of Stray Bullets--26 of 40 issues--for fifty cents each. For the same fifty cents apiece price, I also got Secrets of the Valiant Universe 1 & 2, Punx #2, Masters of the Universe #s 1, 2, & 3, and three old issues of Groo. I also got four grab bags crammed with issues of Warlord for three bucks a bag. Although there were quite a few doubles, I still added a ton of issues to my Warlord collection. Another step closer to a complete run. :thumb:

I won this lot for a nickel. It includes Hulk 8, with Wolverine. I won 4 other auctions from the same seller, all the same series, all a nickel per auction. Including shipping, my price is under .15 per book. I think they might be high grade, if not, at least I'll read them anyway.

A customer by the name of Eddie comes to me at each London show and drops off a good sized bag with about a small box worth of comics. There always crazy bits from the 80's to current day.
Eddie has been buying from me in my many incarnations at the shows since '91, so very cool to slowly offload his collection in my direction asking nothing in return. In fact he was surprised that the first time he did so, i let him have the pile of imports he pulled from our overstock box for nothing. Since then i let him take what he wants, which is always in my favour no matter if e finds 20 or 50 books from my recent selection, Works great for us both, so nice to be rewarded with this through simply being polite to a guy for 20 years.

This months bag had everything from X-files # 1 1st print, which for some reason i needed for my Topps DU set :? to some great FCBD issues, of which i had none.
Then i came across Uncanny X-force # 4, WIN !!

Quite a few new books to go straight back into our boxes that again we had none of.

A possible JLA v2 gaps for drift, not sure yet.
Loads of other DU bits too and general IDW & Boom books with whom i'm a completist also :)
I trade as Dead Universe Comics in the UK, which is no surprise to those who know of my legendary Dead Universe habit.
140 boxes and counting !!!

I recently picked up a Gold Key Magnus Robot Fighter #1 and #2 for $18 total. They're both in Fine 5.0 condition.

I also got my hands on a Gold Key Doctor Solar #1 in the same condition, but that one cost me $35, but it was so worth it. It's a beautiful book! I have a habit of staring at it for a few minutes whenever I come home from work.

Finally, I picked up Magnus (post-Unity) #21-64 for a total of $19. Pretty good steal in my opinion (but what do I know).

Lots of those old Gold Key books have gorgeous covers.

And the really cool thing about those super old GKs is the back cover is an unmarked reflection of the front cover.

I completely agree, Chiclo! I didn't even notice the back covers until I was switching the comic over into a new bag and board. The Magnus ones are beautiful, but I absolutely love the first two Doctor Solar covers by Richard Powers!!!!
