Valiant Entertainment is proud to announce its first ever Free Comic Book Day release – the Valiant Comics FCBD 2012 Edition!

energy sword... hmmm interesting. wonder if he can conjure energy items

ok i hate to say it but... the helmet is lame. and tbh i always thought it was lame. i'm a massive XO fan, so dont get me wrong here, i've always loved the XO armor, i'm not hating i just could never get to like the helmet.. it was always so damn lame looking to me... and this time is no different.

at first i missed the big "X" on his chest but i quickly dismissed it remembering the original armor didnt have it either, and rightly so since it was made by aliens who's native language isnt english (or a root of). and they hint toward the X in the counterform of the armor plates anyway. no reason for redundancy

I also currently like that metallic blue they used however that it a dated color that currently might be pretty nice and subdued but had def dates of usage to it, so i would figure at some point or some artists renditions they will change it to a deeper blue which is always more timeless.

anyway, overall i like the new sleek look. i like how the plates puzzle together and i'm excited to see what is up with the energy/plasma weapon

I have to admit, my first thought when I saw the new armor was "... eh, ok." But, then I noticed the logo. THEN I saw the energy sword and I thought wow, that makes so much sense! Why didn't Aric have an energy sword to begin with? What would be more natural for a 5th century barbarian - a sword or wrist cannons? Then, it all just sort of fit together and the tinglings of excitement started to grow and so far they haven't stopped! Can't wait!!
