Shooter's Most Recent And Perhaps Last Legion Run

I'm sure there's already a thread about this somewhere here... but has anyone here read Shooter's last run on Legion? Thoughts?

Far better than the Waid-Kitson run that started that iteration. My only gripe is that I have never really cared for his brand of pseudo-future speak, but that is a minor quibble at best. I enjoyed the plots and characterisation.

A shame about the Justin Thyme final issue...

Thanks for the reaction. Not sure what the Justin Thyme final issue alludes to. Sounds very mysterious. :hm:

I've got that whole 50-issue Legion volume, and the Shooter issues are the only ones I've read because that was where I came on board with the Legion for the first time and I haven't gone back to read the first 35 yet. I have to say that I really enjoyed it overall, but you can definitely tell as you get to the end of the run that the book was being shut down and there are even a couple of subplots that never got resolved. I'd say the first 1/2 to 2/3 of the run are very enjoyable.

That particular Legion run is the only Shooter-written Legion stuff I've ever read. How does earlier Shooter Legion material stack up? How does it compare to, say, the DnA run which I would say is my favorite Legion run even though I haven't read the entire thing yet.

I actually really enjoyed the Waid/Kitson run. It was an updated version of the Legion, but pretty fun. There was a bit after they left that kind of dragged, but Shooter's run was good too.

I note that on his blog Shooter has some of his #50 plot or script; I would like to compare that to the final comic. The final issue was a mess in no uncertain terms, which is a shame after the good work done by Shooter (and Francis Manpul I think) in the run from #37.
