Valiant on Bleeding Cool 1/9/12
not sure if any one saw this, but here is something I just saw today.

Valiant – The Last Of The Exclusive Distributor Announcements
"Back in the days of the distributor wars of the mid nineties, you couldn’t move without getting a press release about another publisher going exclusive to one distributor or another. Usually it was Diamond. But I can’t remember such an announcement for quite some time.
Well, today, I got one from Valiant, the new company trying to revive Valiant/Acclaim characters from, well, around the same sort of time when I would get those exclusive publisher press releases.
I’m getting a really big nineties vibe right now.
Anyway, as we know, Valiant will be publishing X-O Manowar, Bloodshot, Harbinger and more. The press release cites “several new monthly comic book series, with new trade paperbacks and hardcovers planned for release later in the year.” And comic shops will only be able to get them from Diamond.
Yes, retailers, look surprised."
Looks good.

It does not surprise me to see idiots posting garbage like that on BC. I only visit the place when somebody offers me a link, mainly because I find it a haters haven.Elveen wrote:I will say that in the comment section there are a bunch of haters.Elveen wrote:not sure if any one saw this, but here is something I just saw today.

Seems like Rich Johnston was instigating things, too.
Valiant is the son of the New Universe.

Well, honestly, he was probably just writing what most people were thinking. That's exactly what I thought when I saw the comment that they are exclusive to Diamond. I mean..... what other distributor is there?StarBrand wrote:Seems like Rich Johnston was instigating things, too.

There will always be naysayers no matter how good the final product turns out to be. Some people are just never pleased.

In "Bruce Almighty", Jim Carrey has the power of God and grants everyone exactly what they ask for... the people end up rioting. Sounds about right.Daniel Jackson wrote:There will always be naysayers no matter how good the final product turns out to be. Some people are just never pleased.

Re: Valiant on Bleeding Cool 1/9/12
eh screw 'em. let the haters hate. f
g trolls. i'd rather 10 people read it who appreciate it than 1000 who are just looking for something wrong. just makes me more proud to be a fan.
I have no sympathy for trolls with their *SQUEE* *SQUEE* stereotypical no heart and soul comic universes. They get upset because those mainstream million title companies leave them wanting and they realized they wasted time and money on crap that hasn't changed for 50yrs and will never change. This is one of the (if not the) greatest storytelling artform of all time (btw if you haven't read it Scott McCloud's Understand Comics - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Understanding_Comics" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; is a must for anyone and everyone) . To transform it into superficiality (multiple main character deaths and resurrections and a million hollow titles and stories) leads the whole of their universes to shallow creations and disrespects the artform and storytelling in general.
let them hate and never feel a need to apologize for being wholly invested in a universe with such entertainment gratification as Valiant had/has.

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

Except that if 1000 people read it you have a chance of the book lasting; 10 people, not so much.
And as for the trolls, you don't have to read their comments; it isn't compulsory and it seems to have bothered you a lot...

VEI - I look forward to you one day publishing MORE than 9-10 books per month

Yep. Haven wasn't a big one either.
