Screwed out of a VVSS on ebay - angry rant

PSI Lords VVSS listed today on Ebay. Auction style.

So I made an offer of $65 to the seller gaudiergaudier and he agreed. For some reason though he relisted the auciton with a $65 buy it now and THEN told me he did so. OF COURSE someone else nabbed it before I did. I have emailed him several times but he is straight ignoring me and has now relisted all his vvss stuff with buy it nows. So basically someone else has benefitted nicely from my ambitiousness and my offer.
Needless to say I am quite PERTURBED!

Sorry for the rant but I had to complain to someone who could appreciate it

Hey, you got to realize that others have the right to be as angry as you are. When the seller accepted your offer he screwed everyone else who could be interested. He made a deal with you and renegated, so he screwed you big time. So of course you are angry. By putting the book on ebay he also made a deal with the rest of the world to let the auction run its course. This he also renegated on. So you are not the only one who should be angry here.

Magnus is right.

Here's a completely impartial view of the situation:

Seller: I'll see what this book is worth, because I don't know.

Outside-offer: I'll offer $65 and see if I can get a good deal from this yahoo that doesn't know what he's got.

Seller: Sure, $65 sounds good. I'll just list it at $65.

Other-ebayer: Hey, $65 is a good deal... I think I'll buy that.

Outside-offer: What the heck? Someone just stole my steal!

I will give vooch311 this much credit, though... $65 is certainly fair. It's not like he was trying to get this book for $10 or something.

A few weeks back I had my eye on a large lot of about 100 comics that had a 4-5 main Valiants: Timewalker, shadowman, armorines vvss and a few other gold books; as well as an assortment of various titles. I had a snipe bid and there were no bids at $14.99 with a few hours left, then the seller closed the auction. I'm sure some idiot tipped him off, and when I asked why he closed the auction he never got back to me.

Dude Im sorry but that is BS. It's called capitalism. Dont hate on me because I went after something I wanted. Why wait around for a week for the auction to be over and most likely not win it.
It's up to the seller what he does with his item, not you. Unfortunately he lacked a thing called honor.
I dont see how he "renegated on the rest of the world", that's just a silly comment.

Yeah Im angry and I was looking for some valiant fans to vent to, not get a moral lecture on ebay and how it's wrong for me to make a fair and legitamate deal with someone who is trying to sell their goods.

It's possible that the guy on eBay was afraid a sniper would get it for the opening bid and closed the auction. I'm not saying it's right, but I'd bet on that more than anything.

I bought it.... Sorry, if I ever see another for sale I will let you know about it.

I needed it and it seemed like a fair price. I had no idea about all the background intrigue. I just hope it shows up in good shape
