What about other baddies?

Except for Harada, have we seen any other old Valiant enemies in any promo art or comments from Dino? Darque? Mothergod? Ax? Ravenrok?

I agree. Plus the name fits better. I think that was the main reason for the change.
I assume you are referencing the worship of plants by the old SAs. I completely agree.

I agree with Doc, they seem a bit more sinister than Sven and the crew.

I'lll reserve judgement until I see some results...I want the bad guys to be BAD, not just in looks, but in actions and ideals...
Why waste time learning, when ignorance is instantaneous?

One thing I liked in the early Valiants was that there were so few bad guys and super villains. They seemed to move away from that towards the end, but it really stressed the " universe outside our window" theme. Spider aliens and Harada were basically it for a while. And that made sense - it wasnt a superhero universe, so there wasn't going to be a new super powered villain every month. They made the most of the bad guys they had - an entire RACE of aliens, so of course they could be everywhere, and a super powered behind the scenes manipulator, so of course he would have his fingers everywhere. Yes, new villains appeared occasionally, but not with a high frequency it seemed.

I hope the new Valiant sticks with this. That's one reason why the original books were good - they were character driven, not simply a big fight scene between the newest bad guy and the good guys.
