It's probably important to note that X-O 1:50 has not sold as an auction yet.
All sales at all prices have been set by the sellers with "Buy-It-Now".
Competing bidders are just now getting to impact the actual market price.
It's possible that the "Buy-It-Now" prices at $50 and under have been far too low.
(Whether they will remain too low is a different question, but supply/demand rule.)

Imagine what they'd be if there weren't 40 already claimed by members of this board through Paradise's deal.
Keep in mind the ones purchased through DCBS also I'm sure the majority of those sold to members here from the board..

Weird, when the sets of all 4 covers were available as a BIN of $10 less than that (right up until yesterday, right?). Ebay bidders often confuse me.

Yep. It looks like the sets of 4 for $89.99 buy-it-now ran out yesterday... the 1:50 variants started selling for $99.99 today (two have sold, one auction bids, one buy-it-now).

...and they're gone. Three sets to one buyer. Gone in 24 minutes.

The seller, thecomicmarketnh, has now sold 20 sets at $89.99.
I presume it's safe to say they ordered (at least) 1,000 copies of X-O #1.

The set of 4 as a regular auction (instead of the $89 buy-it-now) ended at $109.50 with shipping: http://www.ebay.com/itm/160792737820" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This seller "only" wants $80 for his 1:50 variant: http://www.ebay.com/itm/261018011340" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
(I guess he didn't see them sell for $99 earlier today.)

I know what they are selling for but I just have a really hard time spending that much on one.

Or they got the missing QRs from CKBs shop. With the way the shipments went on this, who knows.

It's an interesting idea, actually. :hm:

...actually, that is my shop. He must have bought more QRs from other shops in the area.

Looks like a $100 buy-it-now for the 1:50 alone lasted 8 hours before being hit:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/261018036202" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Another 1:50 is now up to $120 shipped with 9 bids and four-and-a-half hours to go in the auction:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/360455538312" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Watching these is fun. And I think this is a bit beyond prices rising just because of us here at vf.com.

Aja variants are strong as well.

Good point... this Aja's at $30 (shipped) with a day to go... http://www.ebay.com/itm/110873235684" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Not sure what's special about that auction... this other one is at $24 (shipped) with 6 hours left: http://www.ebay.com/itm/350562135260" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

That one's now at $130 shipped with 3.5 hours to go.

The downside to all this is that with the next set of books in May we may not see affordable variants.

Ebay will always have buy-it-now pricing idiots. (Too high and too low.) :D

I think many sellers are just putting up BINs using their normal pricing conventions for Marvel and DC books. It appears that they are doint themselves an injustice.
