Thanks Greg. A little more than i wanted to pay, but that's what I get for not pre-ordering

You probably saved at least $25... I doubt if it would have lasted long if it had been at $150.

I may soon go to only digital reading and not get the physical copies but as an old school Valiant fan, I love that we have the eBay pricing mania to watch.

:breakingnews: It only takes two to start a bidding war. :breakingnews:

Been in em and lucky enough to have an auction where one started.

Question is, will the hype and speculation continue?

As Maria Bartiromo would say, these ahh on fiya!
Just advertise as an "investor copy" whatever that is, and you'll stir up some hype. The only "investor copies" I know of have CGC on the slab and they sell for as much or less than that raw.

Why someone would pay that for a raw copy is beyond me. You could get a 9.8 for nearly the same price.

Agreed! If you put in anytime and did a little research you could still get a 9.8 for that much.

I sold a set for $199 BIN FS recently.
1QR + 1AJA + 3 Pullbox + 3 Regular
Looks like demand is now less, but collectors still pay $89 for an ungraded copy presently.

It was not easy to part my only copy, but I don't have to ponder to get it signed or not.

Also seeing that it was going for $200 at a time.

Now buy a set for $135 and you're ahead $64. :D

I've seen two sell in the past couple of days in an auction for $59 and several $89, so I'm going to guess the days of $200 books are over.

The $59 was a BIN that I missed out on; but there was a $61 auction that didn't have int'l shipping, so I couldn't partake...but I believe that is the low for an auction listing. The BINS at 80-100 are still snatched up fairly quickly. I wouldn't say the days of $200+ are over, remember there's still not a lot of these in total. So when buyers that didn't opt for it start buying, or if new fans come to the series from it's longevity, you will see continued demand and a clear lack of supply. Assuming each board member has a genuine interest in acquiring one, there's only a print run to fulfill 1/4th of board membership. I remember a number of years back when the BS plat first started to get noticed and they were breaking the 5-600$ mark and a lot of people here thought that was crazy; just goes to show what an affect relative increases in demand can accomplish with limited supply.

Oh, I see that now. I was just seeing that some said it had bids and others said BIN, so I assumed that told how they were sold. I see now that the ones that look like auctions were actually auctions with BINs also available.

I still can't believe people are listing with BINs so low. If the book balances out at about $100, I think that would be a fair price for it.

Lots of people on ebay don't know what they're doing...whenever I list a book that i'm unsure of it's value I always look at completed auctions, both sold and unsold, to get a range of what I think it might sell for. And also so that i'm not overpricing and underpricing the book.

Yeah, I just learned about the completed auctions search. It makes life a lot easier, because before I would just add a bunch of auctions to a watch list and see how they ended. I'm one of those people that often get screwed when I sell. I sold a Chucky doll on there last year and thought I did pretty well selling it for $120, but then I noticed the guy turned around and sold it for 3 times that because he added one simple word. :!:

It makes me nervous to sell now unless I know exactly what I have. I was just trying to make space.

I can't remember now, but after it happened I did some looking into it and I think it had something to do with who made it. I think it also had to do with it's limited supply. My wife bought it for me for Christmas one year because I love the Child's Play movies and he was even in the Good Guy box, but after having it for awhile I just kind of realized it was taking up space. I shouldn't be upset because I still made a good profit on it, but it's just knowing how much it could have sold for... I do more homework now. :D

It amazes me the number of people who don't "shop" ebay for the best deals. I see this all the time in every category imaginable. XO QR variant case in point:

This guy paid $200 for it
http://www.ebay.com/itm/X-O-Manowar-1-Q ... 20c54fcc05" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This guy paid $125 and got all 4 covers!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/X-O-MANOWAR-1-2 ... 2ebdfac8ca" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

THESE BOTH ENDED THE SAME DAY!!

This person paid $100 for all 4 three days earlier
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-VALIANT-X-O ... 256ffe781c" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I don't think the Bloodshot 1:50 will be nearly as popular based on people's reactions to the Esad Ribic cover and also the popularity of Bloodshot. I hope to get one for $50-$60 tops! I really like/want it :hope:

I'm hoping the same thing. I'm going to take my chances with auctions for the Bloodshot and probably A&A.

An auction with 16 bids sold for $52:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/X-O-MANOWAR-ONG ... 1e6ea91c6e" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

A BIN with the 1:20 included for $76:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/X-O-Manowar-1-S ... 500wt_1182" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Another BIN for $64.95:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/X-O-MANOWAR-1-V ... 1098wt_931" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

A BIN still available for all 4 covers $99.99:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/X-O-MANOWAR-VAL ... 745wt_1163" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I think the initial buyers that paid $150+ for just the 1:50 have to feel a little silly now. I'm surprised the auction ended so close to $50, though.

It was printed a few weeks ago and already described as "VF condition". That's basically saying, "Step right up! It's the worst you can buy!"

...and it still got $52.

I guess that explains why it was so close to $50, but it still doesn't change the fact the the BINs are getting cheaper because the higher BINs are dropping off with no buyers.

eBay VF. What kind of grade must that be?
