I used to be fairly "Meh" about Twitter and FB and then I saw Valiant came back. If it wasn't for that, I woulda never bothered.

So do you think VEI should run promotions like that to reach new fans on a Valiant Fans messageboard or on FB and twitter

no offense man but that wasn't the brightest comment i've ever seen.
"I think you're an idiot, but no offense man."

There are other ways to promote Valiant that don't include a means of promotion that is inclusive only to Twitter & FB. Is that basic enough for you?

Here's the thing. VEI does in fact have other means to encourage promotion of their brand through various means. But c'mon. We are talking the rarest of rare of the new Valiants...probably the most-sought after due to scarcity....maybe even the most-valuable.

Only available to those who Tweet. That is in fact the bottom line. We're not talking about some run-of-the mill variant or a gold, we're talking the gold standard of variants.

And garnering such a gem should not be inclusive to those who only Tweet.

Truth be told. I've been encouraging Valiant since 1993. I even have an original Valiant symbol tattoo. So yea, I'm a fan.

VEI can choose what the want to do.

As much as I consider myself being a Valiant fan, I do not have a personal Facebook or Twitter account. I'm not into social networking so it doest take away or give anything to me.

Nothing against VEI Promotion I think it's a great idea for businesses for exposure.

Even with the contests, I still am not gonna be in Twitter. I prefer the old VF Fans Message Board.

Why am I insane. I live in Maryland..I work in D.C. and Virginia is less than 5 minutes from my house. I'm from New Jersey, I worked in NY and I know the comic shop..I called, I asked, they had, I paid, they delivered. What did I do wrong?

Man, if Valiant had a contest where you had to send in your entry by mail, someone would say, "I don't use the postal service".

If they announced a contest with skywriting, someone would say, "I don't look up".

Twitter and Facebook are BY FAR the best way for Valiant to communicate with fans. BY FAR.

Just as with everything (like this message board), you get as much out of twitter as you put into it. And sometimes more. Like a Neal Adams A&A #1 variant :)

ok *SQUEE* now the gloves are off. If there are better ways to reach new fans than on facebook and twitter you still haven't named them. You're thinking about this from the WRONG perspective. Promotions like this are double valuable to Valiant. Not only does it reward fans that support them on twitter/fb or whatever but those peoples followers see this as well. To give you even just a twitter example myself I have 967 followers. some of which are junk yes i try to clean them out. so even if you remove say 150 or so junk followers everything i tweet is seen by around 800 people. of which most of them are NOT from the Valiant world. my facebook i have over 1700 friends. there is a lot of junk in there too but a *SQUEE* of them come from former workplaces that I had a LOT of co-workers I've worked for very large companies. Nobody questions your Valiant fandom esp if you have that tattoo for real i think that's badass. But if you think just talking about Valiant on a Valiant fan message board is helping drive new business you ARE an idiot. And if you underestimate the reach of facebook and twitter you're an even bigger idiot. and last time I checked this issue isn't only available on twitter you can feel free to purchase it anywhere. but if you want a free copy i'd suggest you do work son. And if you think i'm some sort of *SQUEE* newb just because i haven't been on this board forever you are sadly mistaken. My first Valiant book when I was in High School and working part time at an LCS was VH1 X-O #1. I'm sure you're probably a pretty good guy but take your head out of your *SQUEE*.

And if you can think of a better way for VEI to reach new fans on a FREE platform feel free to finally answer the question you've been asked.

this newbie toolbag didn't resort to insults, but if that's what it takes to be "all that" you can keep that moniker for yourself.

I apologize oh great master and ruler of the world who thinks he's king of the world bc he's been on a message board longer than a lot of people. And i'm so sorry that I do have a difficult time coalescing my thoughts by here's the truth. Last year I almost died from a rare blood disease called TTP. I'm currently on medication being treated for PTSD related panic and anxiety disorder as a result of the treatment for this disease. So if that's inconvenient for you to read i'm so so sorry I didn't mean to offend you king of all Valiant. And I may have rambled but at least I can answer questions posed to me and I can write more than one broken sentence.

Anyway you SIR are gigantic toolbag and it's a good thing you can hide behind a keyboard and speak this way to people...even so called "newbs" bc I GUARANTEE you'd never say that to my face. And if you did you'd be VERY sorry.

Wanna see the Harby QR #1 and Bloodshot #1 1:20 Aja variants I've won from Valiant on TWITTER too? :D

Don't be hating bc I can promote Valiant better than you can, I guess some of us so-called "newbs" are just SMARTER than you are and we care more about the company than our own collections.
