Bound Books Using TPB vs. original prints
All of the bound books people are posting are making me drool. I cannot wait to give it a try with some of my Valiant books, especially Rai. My question is to everyone who has bound books, especially the series with hard to get or expensive early issues. Should I wait to find all of the earlier issues of Rai 1-5 or just use the TPB edition? I noticed the TPB pages are a little heavier than that of the original comics. So to all of you out there with bound books, should I use the early issues of Rai even if I have to shell out a few more bucks or do you think the TPB would suffice in a bound volume?

If you look in the other bound book topic, the Rai books I had bound included the TPB, and it worked out fine. Highly recommend using the TPB, but remember it only has 0-4.

TPBs work just fine.
My approach was to use the regular issues where possible because I like having the ads and bulletin boards at the back of the book.
Using the TPB for the Rai/Magnus flip books was somewhat necessary because there is at least one page that has story on both sides but in different directions.
I also used a lot of the opening credits and introductions from the TPBs in my bound books.

The old X-O TPB has some different names for characters than the pamphlets. X-Calibre is called Sniper in the TPB.

I think having the tpbs is the only thing that has prevented me from binding pre unity already. Sure it would look awesome... But binding already (soft)bound books?
At this point I'm only thinking of binding the missing issues together. Anything else is too elitist for me... Currently.
