I was one of the PM folks. Could you please put me down for the following:
Bloodshot #1 pullbox X1
Harbinger #2 regular X1

Thank you so much and please let me know what I can do in terms of down payments, etc.

Just a heads up, these are probably not too far from coming back from CGC.

Got another box today - they should start to trickle in over the next week.
I am updating the VEI Master Set thread in the gallery forum with examples of the books if you want a preview.
Wow, you know there were 7 regular Bloodshot 1's on this invoice and they only passed one of them! This is a very unusual ratio for me to have rejected. Hopefully I do better on the other invoices.

Wow! 1/7 regular BS#1. That's very unusual. I was afraid of this one too.
I saw a TON of BS#1 Regular covers from different LCS and these were very hard to screen. They all have a print defect on the bottom right front cover. Looks like a print roller crease. The black cover also makes it harder to get a 9.8 candidate.

I figured that would be a tough one. Not 1/7 tough though.

Uh..oh! That's AFTER CKB's pre-screen himself. This isn't looking good.

Sometimes I rant of how a book gets a 9.8, sometimes it comes back at you.

I've got a full invoice of 30 of them coming so we'll see. I haven't take a close look at the ones that came back yet.
edit: I was incorrect above - I only submitted 21 since I had so much trouble screening them. My goal was to submit 30 but fell short due to lack of candidates, despite screens hundreds of them.

Got the XO3's in today. I'm still waiting on the BS 1s and H 2s.

Re: Grading process: CGC 9.8s of Bloodshot 1/Harbinger 2/X-O
I just did the math and this is certainly going to be a problem. I have orders for 14 and I need 13 more (have 1 already). But the invoice that is coming with them only has 14 copies on it. I only submitted 21 total because I had so much trouble screening them.
I have enough BS1 pullbox and H2 and XO 3, so no panic there.
I may have to ask Greg to do the lottery. If you have signed up for a BS 1 regular and want to voluntarily bow out of that book only, send me a PM please!
edit: that 13 I need includes a few "wait listers" so there's still a glimmer of hope to avoid the lottery if you signed up on time.

Re: Grading process: CGC 9.8s of Bloodshot 1/Harbinger 2/X-O
The rest of the books came in today. You can find scans of examples here: viewtopic.php?f=35&t=38025&p=812880#p812880" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The problem child is Bloodshot 1 regular. I received 12 graded at CGC 9.8. I have orders for 12, but one is mine (sorry). One of the orders was for two - since there is a shortage I'm going to make a command decision and hope he is not violently against getting one instead of two. If he is I am going to violently take the heat - and that assumes all 11 other people also still want their slabs, it's been an eternity since these were submitted.
So, if you were on the waitlist for this issue I probably cannot help. I can replace it with a pullbox. I'm going to hold off dealing with the waitlist side of things until I have heard from all the on-time orders. So there is still hope.
Everyone will be getting a PM from me soon on these. I am going to offer special pricing on the Variants and the Flipbooks I have as well as a thank you to everyone. If there are any left over I will be offering them to the boards as well.

12 is better than nothing! People shouldn't expect more from you who did all this work without any advance payments. Clearly there is going to be a demand for these books and will be difficult to find. You were able to get 12 and thats more than what anyone can ask for.
$40 / a slab is a steal for this much trouble.

About how many of the regulars did you submit?

21 total. At that time I was screening 30 of each book but I had trouble finding 30 candidates.400yrs wrote:About how many of the regulars did you submit?

Yes, I had more than 300 of each of the regular and pullbox covers to look at. And then ordered 50 more regulars which were worse than the originals.Ricomortis wrote:Out of hundreds of candidates... correct?ckb wrote:21 total.
