One thing is certain... this cover certainly has people talking.

I believe this is the 4th topic about the Lemire art.

For sure. The discussion of this cover is becoming like the walking dead threads on the cgc boards. I think someone should post a new topic about this cover daily.

That Walking Dead situation reminds me of a company-wide email that's accidentally sent out,
which causes people to reply that they didn't want that email and can they please be taken off the distribution list.
Of course, they "reply to all" to say they want off the list, so everyone in the company is getting all these silly replies
saying "I don't want this email" as if anyone wants to see those replies either... and this goes on for an hour or two
with people alternating between emails that say "take me off the list, too" and people emailing to say "please stop replying to all!"

Eventually, someone from HR will finally email everyone to say --- NO MORE EMAILS.
People get the picture... slowly... and after a couple of hours, the whole thing dies down,
even though everyone in the company now knows who the less-than-sharp coworkers are...
pretty much anyone who had emailed in the past two hours.

Then, the dimmest bulb of all will email the next morning asking to be taken off the distribution list
because they weren't at work the day before and haven't noticed the 100+ emails in their inbox all say the same stuff.
They're essentially the same as a person who stands by themselves to do "the wave" at a football game
after the wave has completely left their section.

But anyway... Walking Dead, huh? :hm:

No.

If I was channeling Dennis Miller then I would have been required to mention the Iliad and Topo Gigio.

Alright, just got back from my LCS... They had this variant, and I passed on getting it - even though I really like it I didn't have enough $$ for it. It was going for $60... Am I crazy for passing it up at that price?!

Please post here if you've seen/bought one, and tell us all what it's going for at your LCS!

Yes, if it looks NM or better I will buy it from you.

I am not having a good feeling about this one. There are none for sale on Ebay right now, short of a board member's pre-sale. I think this is going to be very tough to find in the wild - I'm thinking not many of these were given out because shops are not hitting the 125 number. Then again, they probably printed ~1000 anyway and there is a case of books that haven't been distributed.

$60 is a great deal for this book. IMO. I agree with CKB.... NM or better condition.

I have sold one at $99 on eBay. I was only able to get 6 copies from my LCS. My LCS only had 8 copies and they were all sold.

Dino posted last week that the 1000 copy thing only applied through 2012. So who knows how many. Probably less than 1000, since he said the Flamingo cover was "slightly less" than 1000 copies printed.

$60 is about the peak of what I would pay. Remember this is line-wide, and so if you figure you get 4-5 1:20/1:25 retailer variants with this as well, I find it very, very hard to ask $100 for that book. I say be patient...anyone paying $100 for this is crazy.

Well, sounds like $60 is pretty fair then... unless it was damaged. I had it in my hands yesterday, I didn't see anything seriously wrong with it, but it was bagged & boarded.

I called back and got them to reserve it for me, along with the Torque variant. They don't normally reserve variants for anybody unless pre-ordered, but I seem to have taken on the mantle of 'The Valiant Guy' at my LCS...

I didn't order this from DCBS as they were wanting $250 for it. Yikes.

Hey Greg do you have that ordering form for March, the one where you it shows whether books are retailers or what-not? I'd like to know the Grampa variant and see how many issues it is (if it's line-wide).
