Mile High Comics has one of the *SQUEE* looking websites on the internet. It looks like a teenager designed it in a bedroom in the early 90's.slym2none wrote:Pardons - I hold a grudge against Chuckles & Mile High. When I was 12 or 13, my mom bought a bunch of X-Men from MH, #s 108-138, and I caught #109 with a popped staple. Of course, all books were "VF-NM" back then, but a popped staple takes a book down to a 4.0 - either they didn't check over books like we do now, or they were "mile-high" from all the dope being smoked.

I also like that Spawn #9 might now be a $20 book.

That is one of the reasons why I have never bought anything from Mile High. That and their insane prices.greatbrandino11 wrote:Mile High Comics has one of the *SQUEE* looking websites on the internet. In related news, Marvel is saying that the appearance of Angela isn't the big surprise slated for AoU #10 and that her appearance is like an "after the credits." type of deal.
Also, they are saying that the issue is going to be polybagged as to not have the ending spoiled.
http://www.newsarama.com/comics/age-of- ... ngela.html
Her first appearance post AoU will be in Guardians of the Galaxy #5.
I wonder if all the big "event" issues are going to be polybagged from now on in order to combat the stories from being leaked.
Although, I don't see how that stops anybody from just opening the polybag and posting the spoiler. I guess Marvel will get their $3.99 from that guy this time!

Why bother when Marvel will spoil it themselves in USA Today or NY Times the day beforenutflush76 wrote:That is one of the reasons why I have never bought anything from Mile High. I remember when they had the ads in the comic books. I always thought their prices were too high then!slym2none wrote:This was before the interwebs as we know it - 1983.greatbrandino11 wrote:Mile High Comics has one of the *SQUEE* looking websites on the internet. It wouldn't be worth paying for the pre-screening and grading.

$4.29 per issue
I can't imagine dropping this kind of money on 70 issues.

It seems as though these have cooled as fast as they heated up. They don't seem to be moving on eBay at the current prices. Many sellers continue to drop their BIN's lower and lower. The 9.8s are still going over the $100 mark. I'm glad I sold mine when I did. I made a great profit. It would have been greater if I had accepted the first offer I received.

From what I have seen Spawn back issues are on the uptick. I've been selling them pretty ok at my shows. Also, a bunch of peeps have been asking for them.

I hope Spawn prices do continue to rise. I have an entire run (with all the variants) just begging to become valuable.Elveen wrote:greatbrandino11 wrote:I have a 9.8 copy I acquired several years ago in an auction.
