I never played Blitzball beyond the one time you are forced to. As for its reception, it was very very very well regarded in most circles. I will say that it's no better than the 3rd best, for me, because I did try to get another game started-first time in ages-and it just seems less alive than it used to. I remember enjoying it and finding a lot of good in it. Overall, I think 12 and 6 are both more complete worlds to explore. The one thing that bothered me in my latest attempt was the stilted dialogue and voice acting, which was always my least favorite part of this game. I just loved the system and the story when it came out.ian_house wrote:Not really a fan, didn't think it was that highly regarded either. It's been a LONG time since I played it but I remember finding it repetitive and the story kind of vague. That side game with the underwater sport was pretty guff too.xodacia81 wrote:Yes, Final Fantasy 10...I'm not using Roman numerals here. The big complaint-the gambit system-is sort of like complaining that your hardcover has a dustjacket. You can choose to use it or not, lol. Me, I don't use the system too much, but I find it gives me breathing space in certain situations. As far as I'm concerned, it's just about the most engrossing game in the series, and this is coming from a guy who long held both 6 and 10 as tied for best game ever.Rubiks-Q-Bert wrote:I like it. I love how deep it is and I think it's possibly the best one of the series, or at least on a par with 6.

Fair do's mate! I actually really hated 12 as well as it was so damn linear, it felt like you were being shepparded down a tunnel to the next part of the story each time. Sorry! Tbh I've probably had enough of the FF series and won't be buying any new ones, I've not loved one since 7 which for me is the best. I'm a big fan of 3, 6 and 9 too.xodacia81 wrote:I never played Blitzball beyond the one time you are forced to. As for its reception, it was very very very well regarded in most circles. 12, linear? I've heard the complaint about 13, but 12? Far from linear. Far too much to do in pretty much any order you want, to be complained about as linear. I will say that I didn't care for 3-which over on this side of the pond, has only come out on the DS-but I loved 6 and 9. I liked 7, but I think there's too much love for it when to me, it's not what the FF series is really all about. 4, 6 and 12, far as I'm concerned, capture the spirit of the series better than any other games.

Re: What video game are you currently playing?
Finished up Red Dead Redemption and the Undead Nightmare dlc. Fun game with an interesting story set in last days of the cowboys. Gameplay is solid and the weapons are decent enough considering the time period. Some of the missions become a little monotonous as they basically have you doing the same thing repeatedly (especially the side missions). As big as the area is, it was somewhat disappointing to see them using the same locations over and over instead of making a few new ones. Also, the size of the towns were quite small and there was very little to explore. Solid game, but could have epic with a few additions.
As far as the undead Undead Nightmare dlc, I think this is the first time I've played a game where the dlc was just as fun (and almost as long) as the main game.

Just got Halo 4.
I haven't even turned my Xbox on since March, when I got tired of Halo Reach.
Halo games are all I play. It is a way of not dedicating too much time to video games.

Re: What video game are you currently playing?
Finished up ME3 the other night. What an amazing game series this has been. Glad I waited for the latest DLC and extended cinematics for the ending. I ended up making all the right choices in the previous games in order to save my favorite characters and get the ending I wanted. Very cool how it all came together in the end.
I'm really curious to see what is next as the end doesn't seem to leave much room to move forward with anything that could be as interesting and exciting as the first three games. Feel sorry for the bunch that has to try and top this....

I played and finished Dead Space 3, and am currently playing Skyrim: Dragonborn
Dead Space 3 was completely insane and the ending was incredible.

Playing through Fire Emblem Path of Radiance and my brother and friends are really into Dragon Ball Z: Raging Blast 2. Aside from Super Smash Brothers Brawl, it's one of the only games I'm disgustingly good at (almost pro but not quite that level of gross)

I just finished my 6th or 7th run through Final Fantasy 8 before I moved back down here to NC. It took my over 110 hours. As much as I love the game, I probably am going to retire it.
Related note - it's an original (not Legends) game, does it have any collectible value?
