That the story was in the continuity pre-unity, and it was written pre-unity. The coupon thing is a bit more compelling.

Ah, that's not bad either.

I think I prefer the "original method of obtaining" test...
If it was a pre-Unity method, then the book is pre-Unity.
(I'm just re-stating, not trying to further convince.)

I figured he meant date wise it came out afterwards. But your way makes more sense Greg. I always considered Magnus 0 and Harbinger 0 to be pre-unity books. I never really considered Archer and Armstrong 0 pre-unity but maybe that's just because I owned one back in the hey day.

Well it looks like you're going for a 9.8 set :thumb:

I'm look to get just a 9.6 set

Hmm..I wonder if I should start a set sometime...I guess I need to finish out my regular set first...think I just need like 50 books...I might have to do a complete inventory though since I think that I have lost track of what is new...

OK. I'll dig up my list and try to remember what I was thinking at the time. The one that sticks out the most was how perfect my Harby Pink looked to me. Flawless under intense scrutiny. But I am no expert.

Here's what I sent in. And what I think I might get.

- Magnus #9 - Looked sharp 9.8
- Harbinger #7 - 9.6-9.8
- Harbinger #5 - 9.6-9.8
- X-O Manowar #5 - 9.8
- Harbinger #1 - 9.6 Wasn't too confident in getting a 9.8 on this one.
- Magnus #7 - 9.6-9.8
- Magnus #1 - 9.6
- Harbinger #0 Pink - Solid 9.8. Hopefully 9.9? It just looked so nice. :hope:
- X-O #4 - 9.6
- Rai #4 - My best looking Rai book I had. 9.6-9.8

Again, I'm no expert but from what 9.8's I already have, I'd say every book I sent in could be in the same class and most of them looked better. So I guess I'll have to wait and see.

Good luck Phil...

That would be a great load of books to get in those conditions.

Harby 5 in 9.8... hard to get
X-O 5 in 9.8... hard to get due to the RED cover
Magnus 7 in 9.8... hard to find in 9.8
Harby Pink in 9.9 <drool...nuff' said>
Rai 4 in 9.8... if I remember right is WAY harder to get in 9.8 than even RAI 3.

Hope they ALL come back in 9.8... Let us know when they come in what you got.

Should I really look into doing this set? How much room does it take up?

dawg...

My first set, which is 54% complete (which I have a few that are pgx and not on the registry) almost fills one of the CGC boxes. So I'm counting on a full pre-unity set almost filling up 2 CGC boxes.

Not bad.. for what you are getting in return.

Valiants slabbed...<drool>

Sure I am a valiant fan...that is why all my books are raw...

Plus I have a lot of other things that I collect and i dont know that slabbed valiants are worth it to me right now...basically every slab is once less print I can buy...or another cd wallet for my cd collection...I need to pick up a new UGA helmet for this season...lots of other things that I also want...
