its unity #1 and the character narrating the story fits the profile of what we think Erica Peirce looks like (female, brown hair, mid-30's) but besides that ... i'm not sure i'm seeing it either.

Erica was a scientist ... this character was a food writer

It might be a re-imagined version

It could also be wishful thinking?

I'm definitely intrigued ... it was a nice preview

There aren't really any spoilers in the preview, if you're caught up on X-O Manowar and the general news about Unity. Apparently a woman with brown hair has to be Erica Pierce, because there's only one of those in the world.

Wait, wait, WAIT! But this is a woman... with brown hair... in a book called UNITY!!! So therefore she MUST be Erica Pierce, even though she's not a scientist or wearing silk battle fatigues.

In that case, if Dr. Mirage can be a woman in this incarnation, we'll just make Erica an Eric. Would we still need to see him naked to know for sure?

Those sheer fatigues were tasteless. Looks like something Madonna would have worn in the early 90s. If this is some form of Erica, I hope she's not a psycho molester this time around, see-thru pants or not. Ick ick ick. Her story would have been message enough (god-like powers in a deeply flawed human who's intentions become twisted) without having made her into a such a pervert.

But to be serious, I don't consider what Erica wore as tasteless or gratuitous - that would imply it was pointless. I think like you said she was a deeply flawed person who became a god. She hated herself so much that she killed her Human self when she went back in time. She completely disconnected from humanity and left all shame behind. When you think of Gods in myths you think of them as half clothed or naked. So I think it made sense for her to wear that look.

You see it with men too. look at Ivar in the 2nd issue of A&A .. He comes to Archer as a God like vision. Ivar is Completely naked in that scene with only a few strategic clouds covering his privates.

I think it's just something with Gods or those with tremendous power. They just like to be naked. And if you don't like it. They will smite you.

At first look it sort of has the "Marvels" feel about it, the point of view from the layman sort of.
