Long Island Valiant Fans
I am loving reading Valiant comics but to be honest i have nobody to talk about it with. I been trying to get my girlfriend to read them but she is reluctant. I don't want to push her into it even though i ask like every week lol. Anyway im just wondering if there is anyone in my area that is into Valiant? Who maybe wants to do a Valiant club or just a comic club. Maybe meet at a public library or something. I am a nerd and i have no nerd friends anymore. I been all about working and my girl for so long. Now i have a great job and things have never been better between me and my girl. I just haven't had much time to nerd out with anyone in a long time. I feel weird even posting this
but I missed my chance to get NYCOMIC-CON tickets and well that would of been a great time to make some comic book friends lol.
This is coming off as a weird isn't it?

Sorry dude I live in Calgary, there is a Canadian Valiant fan club on FB though we talk about stuff and get nerdy it's great fun
There is also an American Valiant comics fb fan group run by PJKing, he's a member here but doesn't post much. I believe he lives in New York, he is a total Valiant freak.

This forum is as close as you're gonna get. But it's a great place to hang out!
I spent 40 years on Long Island so if you want, I'll pretend I still live there and make all kinds of geographical references and such to make you more comfortable.

I also lived on Long Island for about 25 years. And for all the reasons your talking about, is why I joined this board too. I have no one around really, so I come here, and jot down my thoughts. I love the interaction, and feeback. Your'e in good company here, and you can talk all Valiant, all the time!jmatt wrote:It is.ValiantReader wrote:well that would of been a great time to make some comic book friends lol.

Same here. No friends other than you guys. At least my wife and son are awesome to hang with, or I'd be screwed. I keep meaning to meet up with dbngaa as he's local, but I never seem to get a chance.

All though I must admit it was more fun when we were dire enemies

Re: Long Island Valiant Fans
I was born in the Bronx and grew up on LI. Still technically live there because I'm in Queens, but I don't go east because that's where they keep the suburbs.
(Fun fact for non-New Yorkers: while Queens and Brooklyn are both on the land mass of Long Island, when most locals refer to "Long Island" they mean the two eastern-most counties of Nassau and Suffolk. Also, you're never "in" Long Island, but "on" Long Island.)
ValiantReader, I'm still looking for a venue for a Friday-night gathering in the city after Comic Con. Look for that thread if you want to come in and join us. Will update that today.

I grew up in Brooklyn. My mother and an uncle, aunts, and cousins still live in LI... Massapequa to be exact. I visit at least once a year.
