Re: Round #2 Extras Revealed....
The last group of people to receive theirs are the ones who ordered Harbinger Hardcovers (Comikaze Exclusives).
The signed VEI Team Signatures on the Harbinger Hardcovers took several weeks to acquire with everyone's work schedule.
That being said, I want to also thank Bruce for packing and shipping these out.
It's Bruce's first attempt to compile, pack, ship fifty individual packages. Bruce knows if anyone one of the fifty gets lost/damaged/misplaced... we're screwed.
Basically they are irreplaceable.

Re: Round #2 Extras Revealed....
To plan for the future, Elery and I need your feedback.
We happen to have a difference of opinion. Elery feels that the members would prefer an "extra" such as we had for round #1 which was a Harbinger Wars #1 1:50 with 13 VEI staff signatures, including the very hard to get Peter Cuneo one.
I think that members would prefer an "extra" such as the one for round #2 which was a gold book, signed by the author and publisher, embossed, with a signed COA (or in round #2, 2 of these).
Which do YOU prefer and which one would you want more?
If we're going to put effort into a project in the future, we would genuinely like to have your thoughts on this since we want anything we do to be as special as possible.
So let us know what you think. There is no wrong or right answer. Thanks so much.

^ you can't go wrong with either. We are lucky to have you guys putting such great effort into these.
That said, if I had to choose between the two options described (1:30 and Gold), I'd go with the gold #1, although I'd prefer artist and writer (I hope Fred isn't reading this
Thanks again for all the effort. It was truly special to open the package and see all the valiant goodness inside

But if i had to choose I also think Gold with COA signed by a few people the author/publisher/artist would be my choice
And probably easier to get done than trying to get the whole staff to sign.

Re: Round #2 Extras Revealed....
Like what Bruce said. We need your feedback.
For Round #1, Peter Cuneo's elusive signature in ANY Valiant book is very special. Literally took several months to get this. (It's something we probably would never consider requesting for again)... We have only seen Peter Cuneo's signature on the QR Proposal and Round #1 Participants. (So if you have one of these books, you are extremely lucky) Dinesh had given us a rare opportunity to have his signature on the Harbinger Wars #1 1:50 and it was worth the wait. (It was a blessing in disguise that Fred Pierce forgot to sign the Harbinger Wars #1 1:50 at first or else we would not have returned the books back to VEI to get Peter Cuneo's signature)

For anyone who does not know the back story for Round #1, here is the topic. (Its quite an interesting story from Bruce and myself's perspective)
http://www.valiantfans.com/forum/viewto ... 8&start=50" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
--------------------
For Round #2, this also took several months or orchestrating (much longer and harder than Round #1 because there were more components and more individuals involved. ) and it was Bruce's idea from the very beginning.
When Bruce writes the back-story of Round #2. I am sure it will be more lengthier than Round #1's back story (I'm betting on that). A longer story usually means more work
.
Round #2 Package:
**Harbinger #1 Gold (Embossed VFVSS)
(Signed by J Dysart and F Pierce with Embossed COA Signed By D Shamdasani, G Holland and F Pierce)
**Archer & Armstrong #1 Gold (Embossed VFVSS)
(Signed by F Van Lente and F Pierce with Embossed COA Signed By D Shamdasani, G Holland H and F Pierce)
**UNITY Red
(Signed by VEI Team: Dinesh, Gavin, Fred, Russ, Warren, Walter, Hunter, Atom!, Alejandro, Josh, Travis and Robert with COA signed by Greg H and Bruce H)
****Personalized and Numbered Valiant / Valiant Fans Letter
(Signed by Dinesh, Bruce and myself)
Shadowman Mask

--------------------
Recently, I've mentioned to Bruce earlier that Round #2 will be pretty hard to beat. That being said, however, we wouldn't have a Round #2 if we didn't do a Round #1 at first.
Personally....Round #1 is special because it was the first time working with Bruce and VEI. Creating a personalized-numbered letter signed by Dinesh is EPIC. Plus knowing that there's ONLY '22 participants (much less than than Round #2 which has 46 participants)
--------------------
For Round #1 ---------The only books prior to that having VEI Staff Team Signatures were the QR Proposal books. (which is extremely rare) If anyone remembers, VEI took nearly a year to complete those signatures. Afterwards, we have seen more VEI Team Signatures offered for X-O Manowar & Harbinger HCs in con exclusives through Valiant Fans only. (Now Round #2 Participants received a UNITY Red with VEI Team Signatures as well) One simply cannot obtain all the staff signatures easily unless its provided by VEI. (I don't think I would ever attempt to acquire Team Signatures that route)
If one wants to acquire VEI Team signatures outside of Valiant Fans. It would be quite a challenge. (Unless of course you can go to Valiant's HQ during NYCC and have everyone present in the time you are there) I believe its nearly impossible for any fan to get this within a short amount of time. (Maybe guys who went to NYCC tell us if it can be done)
Someone asked WHICH ONE was EASIER to get... Writer / Artist / Publisher or VEI Staff Team Signatures.
To answer this plainly... BOTH are difficult to get. anyone can ask Dinesh (Bruce can elaborate on this more). I know that Robert Meyers and Peter Stern had to be on top of getting everyone's signature or else it would not get done with everyone's work schedule.
(its probably similar to having a high-school yearbook signed by all your classmates... if you can imagine
)
--------------------
Regarding Round #2.... I'll tell you guys a info.
I can take a good guess why Bruce favors Round #2 more
. The embosser itself was custom made and Bruce designed it himself.
Prior to this project... I personally have never owned/seen any VH1 VSS or VFVSS books, so I was sent one just to personally see how it looks like)
You won't find any other ValiantFan like Bruce going crazy about VFVSS. A number of tests were done (few books destroyed) and Bruce is exceptionally proud that the emboss clearly and did not break the paper and color. Its something Bruce is extremely proud of. (Not to mention he had 100 Gold Books in his possession at one point in time which he was pretty fond of having
)
Lastly, Bruce himself packed and shipped all Round #2 packages which anyone can guess how many hours he spent organizing this from the start.
--------------------
So... Round #2 are for YOU FANS who supported this package. A few participants saying this is their first Gold Books. Its a great way for everyone to get a chance to own something unique.
Valiant Entertainment (Dinesh) provided these books for those LOYAL VALIANT FANS. It would have been possible to do this with VEI's contribution.
Again.... let us know what you think. There is no wrong or right answer.

Re: Round #2 Extras Revealed....
I wasn't fortunate to be around for round #1 and I hate that I missed out. Trying to compare them knowing I have one but will never have the other is a bit hard, but I think I am going to go with the embossed books. They are just so unique that I think that edges out the 1:50 with a rare signature. Plus I always prefer autographs I obtain in person because it is a reminder of meeting ad talking to the person. I have meet most of the guys who did the round #2 signatures so that is still cool too! It is so awesome to me, a comic collector and fan for over 30 years now, that I can say that. VEI is a comic company that cares enough about it fans that I, as a fan, have meet most of the staff and creators that work there. You just have to love a company that cares this much about it fans. You sue can't say that about the big two!

Re: Round #2 Extras Revealed....
Having been part of round 1 and 2, I can agree with many others that both are wonderful extras to get and both are very rare/unique prizes to have amongst my collection. I truly love them all. While I do appreciate how rare it is to get Peter Cuneo's sig along with so many others on the round 1 book, I'd have to say that my heart skipped a beat when I saw the embossed gold VFVSS books from round 2. I Squeeeee'd like a little girl and my wife laughed at me. It actually made me start to tear up (but they were manly tears of fan appreciation!). So I'd have to vote for the round 2 type extras if we got to choose for anything like a speculative round 3. (I know it's up to VEI what they decide to give out, but if it is another gold book I would hope it's of a different title than those already given out to avoid duplication. Not that I wouldn't love and cherish is still, but ... ya know, right?)
Also, as an aside: my oldest son suggested that I should think about 'slabbing' (sending to CGC) some of these special issues we've gotten from these extras. I've never slabbed any comics before, but these are special enough I would think about it just for the protection factor. Anybody else doing this or thinking about it? Does it matter to CGC if the item is signed/embossed/VFVSS? I'm not worried about whether this would increase the book's value as I don't plan to ever sell these, but for any other consideration I'm interested in what others think.
