After opening #40 of 50....wow, the pics didn't do any justice to the actual extras..I've been reading comics for nigh on 30 years now and I've never had any publisher do something this sincere and nice for it's readers in that time, I feel humbled...and honored to be part of this group and fandom...just wow.

I don't have the words other than my sincerest thanks to Elery, Bruce, and everyone at VEI for their hard work, effort and devotion to supporting we the fans and these wonderful books.

This mirrors my feelings exactly. About both the company and all the work that was put into getting these books for us. Mine arrived yesterday and it is a truly amazing package.
I wonder what it would be like to be a lonely, muck-encrusted monster? Probably be an improvement.

I got #29 in the mail yesterday coincidentally just in time for my birthday today so it was like a super awesome early present :D

Thank you so much Bruce, Elery, Brian, Greg, Dino, and anyone else that had a hand in putting this together

I knew it was coming, I saw the pictures...STILL blew me away. I don't even know how to properly express in a board post how happy I am to have these amazing books. My first freaking gold books!

Until I opened that up I hadn't even seen a Gold book in person before (including VH1 gold books btw) Naturally, I did have plenty of opportunities to purchase a Gold book but that idea never felt right to me. I wanted to get one by earning it. going into this whole thing I had no expectations whatsoever and would have even been just satisfied with a thank you. but what you guys did was way above and beyond, and i'm extremely thankful. These books are now my most coveted comic book related thing I own and NOTHING could ever make me part with them.

I really hope someday I get the opportunity to thank you guys for this whole thing in person :thumb:

Thank you for all the time and effort put into this.
Enjoyed the letter and all the books.
I wish their was a Spinal Tap comic, and I had a copy CGC graded at 11.

Haha, I think Bruce and Elery have earned themselves a break from organising amazing projects for Valiant Fans for a while!

After a retrospectively coincidental weekend of catching up on my post-Round #2 trade paperback Amazon reviews, I've literally *just* had the postman knock on the door to deliver my Round #2 package. Have avoided this thread until today because I didn't want to ruin the surprise, and what a surprise it was! Totally blew my expectations out the water. I'm super chuffed (British slang for 'thrilled', for those that missed the "Chuffed" discussion in another thread some time back, I don't want to have to go over it again!) with everything that came in it. The Shadowman mask, the signed Unity Red and the signed, embossed A+A and Harbinger #1 books, and the personalised letter and COAs. Ultra brilliant.

Huge thanks to Elery, Bruce and Greg, and of course the various members of the Valiant team that helped realise this project. This has obviously been a massive undertaking and it's great to see that all the receiving members on the board (and indeed, some that didn't: even better!) have voiced their appreciation and shared their thanks in this thread.

Bruce, Elery and Greg: Cheers :thumb:

Mine arrived today via Taun Taun, sweet 16/50!! :cloud9:

I'll just start by saying the embossing is PERFECT, done by Bruce himself!

I was privy to this and was messaging with Bruce when he was doing it and when he said he was embossing them I was like "I don't know man, can you do that without munching them?" Super impressive result!! The only other VVSS I have is the ultra rare Magnus #25  When I compare Bruce's embossing to the original VH1 embossing it is 1000% better, crystal clear yet with no damage or colour breaks.

Outstanding well done Bruce

Also many thanks to Elery, Greg, Dino and all of VEI for making this possible.

I will have to lay these out with round 1 and fully contemplate the awesomeness of both to come up with thoughts for round 3 :hm:

Yahoooooo, my round #2 extras #42 of 50, and my signed Harbinger Hardcover arrived.

Thank you so much Bruce and Elery for what I know was many, many hours of your own time to organise this, Thank you just doesn't seem enough to convey my gratitude, but thank you anyway.

Thank you also to Dinesh and all the Valiant team, you guys absolutely rock.

Very grateful and proud to have been allowed to take part in this project. Well it was easy actually, promoting my favourite comics to the world.

Cheers all and thank you. :thumb: :)

BTW it would be nice to swap temps with you guys in the Northern hemisphere for a couple of days, as it is so friggen hot down here at the moment, and we see on the news pictures of you all tackling ice everywhere, the grass is always greener haha.

I might be the last one to get mine, but it came yesterday (13/50) and I picked it up late last night from my dads place.

The books look AMAZING. Great job on the logo, it looks perfect. :)

Thanks again to all involved. I've seen the pics, but to hold the books and letter in hand is different. Even my girlfriend thought they were really cool (unless she was just humoring me)

I believe you are the last to get yours. Where have you been? Lucky 13 hehehe.

Bruce made sure the logo was perfect.

If your girlfriend thought it was cool... :o

I hope I'm reaching everyone who participated in round #2 and was pleased with their extra.

Comicvine.com is holding a poll for the publisher that you are most excited about for 2014. Voting ends tomorrow morning. If you could please go to the site, register as a member, vote, then ask one other member you know in a pm to do the same, this would REALLY help out VEI and could be one way we could all show Dinesh and crew our appreciation.

THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP WITH THIS!

If you had to put a dollar amount on these extras, what do you think they're worth?

I’m considering selling my round #2 set for two reasons:
1. I'm no longer a Valiant completist and there may be one out there that "needs" these book more than I do
2. I bought a house last fall and had a bad year on my taxes, so thats built up some debt that I want to destroy. So, I need money much more than collectibles (I've sold my VEI variant collection, some very valuable graded GI Joes, Sideshow statues, comic art, and now I'm considering selling these)

Set details:
Limited to 50 people. Only 46 became fully qualified. Set includes three signed books:
1. Harbinger #1 GOLD embossed like the original Valiant Validated Signature Series
2. Archer & Armstrong #1 GOLD embossed like the original Valiant Validated Signature Series
3. UNITY RED
+ plus a bonus NYCC Shadowman mask cover

Desperate times call for desperate measures!

Carson
