A columnist at Bleeding Cool has received one and is putting it up for 1 day, free shipping, to gauge its value. Figured people here would want to know.

Considering Retailer cost of this was $200 (100 copies NOT returned, $2 each net cost to diamond = $200) I would be surprised if this does not go over that amount.

I seriously doubt over 50 retailers will get copies of this book. Our 7 copies have been presold for a LONG time, before Christmas I believe.

Ed --- are you sure?

I thought the details were that retailers who ordered UNDER 100 copies would get one copy, if they returned none.
It sounds like they have to sign up for it... but even if they ordered 1 copy of Unity #1... they didn't return it and they qualify.

So... if a retailer ordered none, or a very low amount of X-O #1... they can get a Unity #1 3-D as long as they match X-O #1 orders and don't return any Unity #1.

Greg, you may be right, I forgot about the "under 100" stipulation. So there will be a bunch of stores with ONE copy.

I think so... and it looks like they won't have to do anything special:
All retailers who qualified for returnability on Unity #1, placed orders of 100 copies or less (regular, pullbox, and orderall covers), and did not return their entire order, will receive one (1) rare, exclusive Unity #1 3-D Motion Returnability Cover as a ‘thank you’ from Valiant Entertainment.

If the orders are above 200 copies... the 2nd copy of the 3-D variant (or however many they qualify for...) requires an "opt in":
Retailers who qualified for returnability and placed orders in excess of 100 copies can receive one (1) additional Unity #1 3-D Motion Returnability Cover per every 100 copies of Unity #1 (regular, pullbox, and orderall covers) not returned thereafter. Retailers will need to opt in by this Friday in order to receive their allotment. Final copies should be shipping via Diamond on 2/5/14.

Just to nitpick...

Should that read "did not return any of their order" instead of "did not return their entire order"?

If I ordered 90 copies, and returned 89, I did not return my entire order, I only returned some of it. However, I would assume I am not eligable for one of the special books.

Another board members LCS is getting two copies. They pre-sold both copies for $100.00. Looks like some people can't do math, but I'm glad I'm getting one of the copies

Is it too late for the LCS to sign up? I'm sure my retailer qualified under the under 100 rule. I'll hit my LCS up if he can still do it. I'm sure he doesn't realize he's eligible. I also know he doesn't plan on returning any (I think he only ordered 20).

Just noticed the note from Hunter that goes with the book...Does that up the value since it's the "very first"?

I was sitting at $231.00. Then it jumped to $233.50 with about 50 seconds to go. At about 5 seconds, it jumped to $300+!
