The Mission Begins - Trades from Patches going to libraries!

Post by Sir Sandrick »

Greetings everyone!

I have been sitting on this huge stack of 120 trades from the patch sales for way too long - I was waiting for the next printing of the Bloodshot Vol 1 trades to include with them, but finally I just decided that I needed to get these out anyways- readers need to find out what they are missing ASAP! I have been contacting the acquisitions department of libraries to make sure that they can take them and finally today we started getting the books to their new homes!

Image

The first two libraries were The Fremont Public Library and the Mountain View Public Library in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Next up is the San Francisco City Library and the Sunnyvale Public Library. I may try a few more places in the Bay, but we are moving down to the Los Angeles, Santa Monica area in the next month so I can only hit a few more. Once in LA I can't wait to get them to our favorite libraries there as well! I will be sure to take and post pictures along the way!

btw - if anyone has a library that they love that supports graphic novels and you would like to donate some of these - let me know! All I ask is that you help with a bit of the s&h for them and take a picture of yourself at the library, flashing a V for Valiant.

oh and further btw - we still have a good amount of the lighter blue patches left for sale. VERY few of the darker blue and red and gold versions though. With all further sales we would like to acquire some Unity vol 1 trades to include with these - let me know if you are interested!

Thanks to all those who bought patches to help get these books out there into circulation -- it has been a whole lot of fun and it is exciting to think about the new readers that may come from our efforts!

Thanks guys!

One bummer is that the libraries would not take books if they were stamped, so we had to abandon the ValiantFans stamp that we had made to put people's names in them - it makes sense though.

It is a great feeling to be getting these books out there finally!

btw - please bother Jay to do a Rai bookmark too! I've been telling her, but she doesn't listen to me as much as she used too! I love Rai!

Maybe if we sell some patches for Unity trades we could have a new selection of the bookmarks with Rai and... ???

I'm stoked to have a patch (that I got in person at the valiant panel at SDCC) and that
I have a little to do with this.
If you would consider school libraries, I would love to get a set for my high school library.

Wow! I received a pristine Unity #1 Gold in the mail today! Awesome! Thanks to Bruce and VEI for sending this my way - what a treasure! This might just be the first book that I actually CGC!

Image

Also, I think that it is awesome that it was Unity gold, because that is what this has been- A united effort from everyone that bought patches to go toward all of those trades. Unlike the characters in Unity however, we all make a pretty good team. When it comes to sharing what we love with others Valiant Fans rock!
