The price was $25. Worth it? Or is this a reprint?

Never owned it, but $25 is a lot for flea market books.

Whats the book run in Good condition?

That seems pricy to overpriced for that grade. I generally find flea market books overpriced, and sometimes vastly so. Still, a classic book and a key Cap issue. They are not easy to find.

Flea markets/estate auction crowd really bring out the amateurs going by 'guide value' of NM, even though the book is usually beat to hell. I was in my main LCS yesterday (took day off work) and some people whom looked like they never owned a comic in their life were trying to sell off some silver age books that looked to be in terrible shape. This store is pretty honest, and I overheard the owner say 'ya that book is worth $1200 in NM....I'm not saying it has to look like this (grabs book off a shelf), but this grades about a 3 out of 10". I looked over and this couple had brought the stack of books in a crate, each loose in a think plastic bag without board. Those comics probably take damage everywhere they go....

LOL! This site is so notorious for the "judge a book by it's cover" scan thing.
I'd say that $25 bucks for it is a decent buy because it's a Silver Age key ala Iron Man #1 once Tales of Suspense was broken up into two titles, but only if the following apply:

-Those cover "cracks" are just splits in the color and not openings in the paper
-there are no "folds" or creases, and that the general overall wear is providing the grade
-all of the pages are intact and stapled relatively securely.

There is a big difference in the "Very Good" or even "Good" family of books when you get one that is structurally sound with wear as opposed to wear with some massive flaw (tears, loose leafs, chunks missing). A Silver Age "Very Good" book is usually a great book to get into Keys with if it has a structurally sound foundation to the grade, in my opinion.

Also, everyone thinks that they have some crazy treasure in their attic, and with the internet it's an incredibly rare thing to walk into a collection of amazing comics like the days of the "Mile High Pedigree Finds" of the past. I'd say that if the criteria I outlined above applies, then pick that book up for #25 bucks and enjoy it!

I know you said generally, but it depends. I bought some key Uncanny X-Men issues in VF or NM (both issues of Days of Future Past) for $4 each. This was around 15 years ago, but that was during the comic market bust so they should've been selling for far more. The guys I bought them from didn't know what they were doing.

Yeah, I have a deceased uncle whose stamp collection was given to me. My family thinks it's worth $10,000-$20,000.....I looked the collection up online, it's not even worth half of what my uncle paid for (I think he paid $1,000-$1,500).

What's amusing about that is the same uncle use to deride me, when I was a young teen, for collecting sports cards. He claimed they're not really worth anything and can easily be counterfeited....Meanwhile, I have a few sports cards which are worth $50-$100 each, which I bought for essentially 5-cents each since I bought them in their original packs when they were released.....Granted, if you factor in all the packs & boxes I had bought back then (I wasn't crazy, probably bought 10-15 full boxes within a 3-4 year time-frame), I didn't really make much, but you know what I'm saying.

I'd say about 99% of comic grading is based on covers, and just about every online sale (non-slabbed).

Good find, and you might be right! The lines are an exact match. I've asked him for clarification. He only sent me the picture and I assumed it was the actual book. I asked him where he found it and he said a flea market in Texas. I asked how much and he said $24.95 and I said I'd pay that. That was pretty much the extent of the conversation. I have no idea if he bought it or not.

I see these sold all over, at Half Price Books, and gift stores. $25 may be around retail. Some dishonest flea market dealers try to pass new items as vintage. Or just claim to not know anything about the item, letting you make a judgement call.

My thoughts were somewhere along those lines as well. based on the size of the price tag in the flea market photo, it certainly looks much bigger than the magnet image I linked to, and bigger than a comic, so I figured it's an altered image used on multiple pieces of merchandise.

I once saw a copy of Rai 3 at a flea market. The guy didn't have a price, so I was going to walk away. He brought out an ancient volume of Overstreet, and said "that'll be 50 dollars"...there was a tear at the top corner of the book and a crease along the spine.

Flea Markets are not the place to find deals.

For me, it was just something not looking right (not the way I'm used to things looking based on years of comic collecting, anyway; one sees a lot of beat up comics, but not ones that look like that, and never price tags on comics quite that small – the actual price info, anyway – and attached with a string), and then trying a few google searches until I found something to connect with.

1. a "What's New is Old Guy - passing off newer, professionally aged items as vintage (e.g., signage, oatmeal cans, furniture, stuff like that)
2. a weapons master - the weirdo who sells swords and armor helmets
3. a computer guy - the guy who wants to own every piece of Apple IIGS software ever made, and sells old CRT monitors at a premium
4. a stereo guy - "ya it's warranteed - just send that warranty card into Pioneeer and they'll replace it for ya! haw! haw!"

The only thing I miss from the old school flea markets? The music guy. From my generation this was how we find true silver disc bootlegs of our favorite bands back in the day....

Ohhh, I hate those!
This guy also takes new posters (sometimes just print outs), seals them in old frames, and tries to pass them off as vintage. So you want to inspect it further? "you can open the frame after you buy it"

That is where I got all my Montely Crüe and Ratt pins (buttons) from back in the day.
