So....I Read Unity 2000....
So, I finally laid hands on copies of Unity 2000 1-3 and got ahold of the script/plots for 4-6.
I read them.
Had a scotch and thought about them.
And now...I have to ask....
What the SQUEE SQUEE BLEEPing BLEEEEEP did I just read?
I've no issues with complex stories. I can write a dissertation on the Summers Family Tree and can keep track of DC Universe continuity in my head without missing a beat, but I've no clue what exactly was going on in this story. Can anyone help me out here?

I'm personally happy that book never was completed because after reading the plots and scripts of 4-6.
I consider it being a mailed in cash grab nothing more, very uninspired effort from Shooter and Starlin
Welcome to the scratch your head club.

I really liked some of the interactions afterward.
Conflicts between Priest/Bright and Shooter.
QW was probably the most popular book at the time - and Shooter's Unity 2000 script nearly ignored them.

In addition, I'm right.

Wow. Reading these comments makes me glad I've never read these issues. Now if only I could have avoided Deathmate the same way.

Could only get to the end of issue one. And even that was a challenge.

It was something that could have been really cool, but turned out horrible. The only decent bit to me was the Magnus/X-O confrontation.

Well, these are characters that he had absolutely no connection with, so I can see that maybe he didn't know what to do with them. Of course, his job as a writer is to figure that out, but he may have bene viewing them as less important because they weren't characters from his Valiant.kevinbastos wrote:I really liked some of the interactions afterward.

Eh, at least I could (mostly) follow what was going on in Deathmate (Though I'll confess to having a little soft spot for that series. It was my introduction to the VH1 characters).Phoenix8008 wrote:Wow. Reading these comments makes me glad I've never read these issues. Now if only I could have avoided Deathmate the same way.

I actually thought what Shooter was trying to do wasn't bad. Definitely interesting (especially after the explained the concept it in one of his interviews) Too bad the last 3 issues weren't published.
