Interesting Acclaim Marketing
Recently I became aware of some information regarding Acclaim that I thought was interesting. This might be old news to some but apparently Acclaim had some pretty unique and crazy marketing campaigns back in the day, especially in their European division.
One such campaign stated that if you were expecting a baby, Acclaim would award the future parents $10,000 if they named the baby Turok. Lol.
Another campaign stated that if there was a death in the family, Acclaim would cover the cost of the funeral if you had Shadowman written on the gravestone. Lol.
Pretty amusing. Just thought I would share for those who were unaware.

It was discussed but no one knows if anyone won any of those crazy contests.

Yeah, they had some pretty wacky ideas during the Acclaim years.

I'd take 100 cases of VH1 Turok #1 over 1 #1 copy of dynacrap turok. Seriously.. I read Magnus #1 and got to the end thinking.. "hey this is kinda ok" until The brought Leeja at the end and utterly destroyed any hope in the book ever by her first words to Magnus. Thus cementing my new name for them of Dynacrap, which if you read that issue you'll know that is a completely earned and relevant title for their company based off that one issue regardless of anything else they have ever done..Beware Cyclops wrote:At least it wouldn't be a case ot Turok #1.Elveen wrote:iggy101us wrote:Maybe Dynamite can send you a Turok #1Beware Cyclops wrote:You mean that I named my daughter Turok for nothing?!?! It's not that I don't have an avatar... I've just been working on it for the last few hundred years.

So you're saying you may give it a try if Dynamite reboots Magnus with a new #1 without Leeja?Aram wrote:I'd take 100 cases of VH1 Turok #1 over 1 #1 copy of dynacrap turok. Seriously.. Re: Interesting Acclaim Marketing
I'll give it a try if they sell the company to someone else, get rid of everyone that was involved in running the company directly (not the artists and writers, though most of those can take a hike as well).. and then get a decent editor..iggy101us wrote:So you're saying you may give it a try if Dynamite reboots Magnus with a new #1 without Leeja?Aram wrote:I'd take 100 cases of VH1 Turok #1 over 1 #1 copy of dynacrap turok.
